I worked at Wentworth Institute of Technology

    Pros

Good work life balance, benefits and flexibility. Overall a good place to work with good people who care. Potential for growth if you so desire

    Pros

Great people at Wentworth who really care about their students. Great mission. Many wonderful people to work with.

    Cons

    Upper management has big problems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There's a brutality in the upper management that is surprising given the stated goals of the of the institution and the efforts of the president.

I worked at Wentworth Institute of Technology full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The college has a wonderful mission: help support the students who will one day design and build cities.

    Cons

Lack of personnel performance stems largely from the Institute's highly demoralizing code of silence: underperform and keep your mouth shut. So many administrators are just phoning it in, and the managers are at fault for keeping them on. Turnover in my department was high because staff are underpaid and new ideas are met with cynicism and flagrant negativity. If you have a shred of creativity or innovation in your blood...this place looks good on paper with some of the new initiatives but try bringing forth one of your own and everyone wigs out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the under-performers! They are slugs eating up your bandwidth and keeping great candidates away from the organization.
