One of the most interesting place that I have ever worked.

I worked at West Coast Ultrasound Institute full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The school has the most complete array of Ultrasound programs in the country. They cover Ultrasound from cradle to grave. They have top drawer instructors and their equipment is cutting edge. Their classes are small and manageable and the student gets a lot of one-on-one instruction. They also have a great nursing program and related allied health programs.

    Cons

Office Policies and Internal politics creates a cultural minefield for new hires. Personal growth within the organization is slow and dificult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire the best people for the job (that you can afford) and let them do their jobs. Having said that, you should still "inspect what you expect".

    Pros

There are many nice people who work here. It was a lot of fun at times. It paid the bills.

    Cons

There was a lot of drama at this organization when I worked there. People continually being hired and fired. Lot's of changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to be less focused on profits and more concerned with providing the education students need to find good jobs.

I have been working at West Coast Ultrasound Institute

    Pros

Everyone here is very nice. Mostly female employees.

    Cons

Perhaps the most disappointing part of working here, besides the disorganization of this newly-opened campus, is the health benefits. They pay 80% for the employee, but 0% for my family. So to insure my family with medical insurance only would be over $1100 a month. If I would have known that, I never would have accepted this job. Please ask about their health benefits before you take a job with them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Warn future employees that the health benefits will eat up half their salary.
