I have been working at West Corporation full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good starting place because of the learning opportunities. I would recommend this employer for short term.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive when compared to other companies and benefits are worst in this company like medical or health insurance

I have been working at West Corporation part-time

    Pros

Opportunity to work with cutting edge technology.
    Above average 401K match.

    Cons

Some in management are not qualified to hold those positions and were only promoted due to tenure or friendships with higher ups. High recognition is given to those that work high amounts of overtime which does not lend itself to promoting a healthy work/life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look to promote the most qualified and avoid promoting based upon tenure alone. Be sure to recognize those who are doing an above average job without working a lot of overtime as those working a lot of overtime have often times created the problems that resulted in the extra hours.

    Pros

    Working from home office
    Your own boss
Save money on commute, meals and clothes
    Opportunity to use organization talents

    Cons

It's a virtual world. Not for everyone. People who are able to work independently will thrive in this atmosphere. No supervision.

I worked at West Corporation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The benefits were decent and some of the folks working there were pleasant

    Cons

It was so screwed up that it was intolerable to work there as a service manager

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If we weren't being threatened with termination on a daily basis, it would be a much better place to work. Management promised the moon to AT & T and expected service managers to do more than was humanly possible. A lot of people were working off the clock to try to keep up since overtime was forbidden.

    Pros

Good company, never any problem with my paychecks.

    Cons

None that I can think of

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at West Corporation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Always hiring, flexible schedules, environment is relaxed, fairly laxed attendance, the location is secured, and can change up line groups to cut monotony

    Cons

Promotions are few and far between, scary turnover rates, slave pay, negative reinforcement to middle management, and clients throw more work at you for the same incentives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the positive and strive to bring that out in middle management for the trickle effect. If you pay agents and middle management better your turnover wouldn't be so high.

I worked at West Corporation full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I can (barely) pay my bills. Met some pretty cool people. Decent schedule adherence regulations

    Cons

Most everything else. They work you to death, expect you to put your life on hold to do all the overtime imaginable. If your stats are even just the slightest bit subpar you get written up, no help to improve and redeem yourself and if you're written up too many times, you're out the door. Towards the end (because we sucked so bad, the contracted got pulled) management had no idea what was going on, rules and regulations were changing so fast you were almost never right and there was a constant air of tension on the floor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If things are going under, stay on top of the ship.

I worked at West Corporation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Peers at your level or one/two tiers higher generally are great to work with. Once above those, however, it gets bad.
Ability to collaborate with other departments from reporting perspective.

    Cons

Upper management always felt out of touch with the department, which is relatively small compared to others. Low morale, pay freezes, and at least one demotion = not an ideal working environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gotta boost morale and make people want to work there. I found myself dreading going to work everyday.
