    Great Atmosphere and Free Lunch

Trading Assistant (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsVery nice place to work, they pay well, the offices are in a very nice section of NYC (Rockerfeller Center). I cannot think of a better place to work. The main problem was diversity. Most of the employees look like they came out of Animal House. Their language on the trading floor was horrendous as well.

ConsLack of diversity in ranks. Other than that, the place is wonderful.

    Working at WestLB

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsGreat benefits package, you don't pay for medical or dental, a small amount for vision for you and your family members. Work life balance is awesome, nobody works more than 40-45 per week. You get 20 days of vacation, 3 personal, and unlimited sick days. It's a relatively laid back environment, not like a stodgy investment bank.

ConsSoftware/hardware is oboslete, it's hard to deal with people in Germany as they have a different way of doing things. Bonus/salary structure is lower than the industry standard. Overall company moral is low. Everything is done in Excel

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest more into the staff. Offer more training for career advancement.

    WestLB

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsOne of the best reasons to work at WestLB is the people. Overall, local management/HR is great but many times their hands are tied.

ConsThere is a lack of transperancy regarding compensation. WestLB currently pays its employees below market especially in terms of bonus.

Advice to Senior ManagementHead office needs to understand that if they want a successful U.S. presence, they need to pay their employees appropriately.
