I worked at Westcon Group (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits and office location. It was also nice to have the ability to work from home. The work flexibility was nice. That's about it!

    Cons

I worked at the Louisville CO office for over a year and the people there are childish and immature. It was seriously reminiscent of high school. I found a better opportunity and I now work with mature adults....thank goodness!

    Advice to Management

Look at your hiring process and who you are pulling into the company. I saw people who couldn't perform and who acted like children getting promoted. This used to be a good organization.

    Pros

    Salary, benefits, and that's it.

    Cons

Poor communication, fired for a BS reason at the end of my 'standard probationary period', do not trust management with your livelihood.

    Advice to Management

Communicate better with spelled out goals. Be specific with expectations of future employees. Don't lie to them about how they're doing.

I worked at Westcon Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good Medical Benefits. Dental Plan is decent. Also has a decent 401K and matches most then other companies.

    Cons

No work life balance and the compensation is less then a lot of companies in the industry,

    Advice to Management

Compensate your employees on a regular basis.

    Pros

Westcon has great benefits and you get to work from home. You get to work with teams all over the world. They are well equipped for employees working from home such that you don't really feel isolated from coworkers.

    Cons

You work long hours due to time differences of some of your coworkers. This causes some delays in finishing assignments. There is no clear path to being promoted.

I have been working at Westcon Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    ○ Relaxing environment, great leadership and excellent benefits ○ Technology -- Everything just works here, which you are definitely not going to find at another company. They have lots of different systems and tools to use. ○ Compensation for employees is very fair. ○ People are great

    Cons

    ○ Prefer to hire externally as opposed to promoting from within ○ Not as fast paced as what I am used to. Just an observation, not a con.
