Department employees and physicians are great

Certified Professional Coder (Former Employee) Cumberland, MD

ProsOffice environment was professional yet fun. Interventional cardiologists are wonderful physicians both medically and professionally and easy to get along with.

ConsGross lack of education for specialized coders. Funding is not readily available for these professionals who need constant update and training in an ever-changing environment. There is not a lot of room for advancement.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay attention to and value your professional coders. Regular education is vital. Give them what they need to succeed. They are KEY players that affect your bottom line. Show appreciation.

    Below average pay

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe work schedule is flexible with extra hours usually available if desired as long as not overtime. No pressure to work unethically, your clinical decisions matter and are respected.

ConsNot many opportunities to expand knowledge or develop new skills. Rehabiliation program seems outdated with little equipment and money being invested to develop new programs and interventions in rehabilitation. Overall, opportunities for professional growth feels stagnant.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in professional development to increase bottom line. You have to spend money to make money.
