I worked at Western Michigan University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a good overall experience. The professors are mostly good. I would recommend this place to prospective students/employees

    Cons

I think that the school could use some more diverse faculty in terms of specializations. Professors seem to be quitting a lot, so perhaps they don't do much to try to keep you. I think the distribution of salaries is very skewed, which is a problem

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Equalize the salaries a little. Having some professors making 50 and others making 120 is just unfair. Clearly there should be a spectrum, but this is excessive.

I worked at Western Michigan University part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The only positive thing about being a teacher assistant is the tuition that they cover. By playing the role, you will start appreciate teaching.

    Cons

The worse thing in being a teacher assistant is the grading for others. They just give their classes and you have to do the dirty work all the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Give better health coverage
