I worked at Western National Life full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay is decent and there good benefits as far as pto and insurance. Some of the management is excellent. The job is really not hard but it is repetitive

    Cons

Some of the managers are great but others not as much. They say there is a chance of advancement but if you are good at your job you are stuck in it they will just keep giving you more work to do. The raises and "bonuses" are a joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not block good employees from advancement

I worked at Western National Life full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits and that's about it.

    Cons

Excessive tenure on the team results in entitlement, stagnation, and favoritism.
Management bloviates too much and thus is not helpful to understanding their team, reduces productivity, and job satisfaction on the team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more opportunities for employees to move into other roles in the company so that they learn other aspects of the business and thus keep things fresh, keeps, keeps management on theirs toes, and everyone engaged in their roles.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Western National Life full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Many health/dental/vision benefit options. Health insurance costs $300/mo for a family, but there are good retirement account options. Training is provided.

    Cons

Very production oriented for $10-12/hr. Basically your benefit options will eat up your paycheck. Also, you must always push out the numbers. Quantity is valued over quality. Don't try to make a contribution or improve practices just keep on the treadmill to produce your numbers- work harder and faster- not smarter...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove some of the layers of upper management. The org chart is too top heavy to get anything done. Everyone has their hands tied which leads to inefficiency.

    Pros

The working atmosphere is great, the people are even better.

    Cons

The only con that I can see, the limited opportunity in certain careers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice would be to keep communicating with employees.
