I worked at Westfield full-time for more than a year
Pros – Good people, good teamwork. Very easy to build relationships.
Cons – A lot of corporate re-structuring going on, so accounting teams are changing in focus

I have been working at Westfield full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Good benefits, good pay (great bonuses if you get it) and good name on resume. Overall, the company has a strong reputation. Many locations and departments around the world but the Company has sold many Centers in 2012 which caused staff reductions. Company is moving to a new corporate office in April 2013 in Century City (very nice building and location).
Cons – Over the years, the company has had many terminations of employees but I hear the severance pay is very good. Employee moral is low.
Advice to Senior Management – Support employees with training and career advancement.

I have been working at Westfield full-time for more than a year
Pros – spectacular view of santa monica, corporate office will be moving to century city which will provide better work areas, and amenities.
Cons – traffic, unjust treatment of employees, department politics, uneducated managers and directors. hard work goes without acknowledgment, and favoritism is a common issue with every department.
Advice to Senior Management – see who the real employees are that are efficiently completing the tasks.

I worked at Westfield full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Most employees here are highly engaged and motivated to be seen as top performers. Pay is competitive in the industry. Each department and center has its own very distinct personality so if hired you're likely to find like-minded people to collaborate. Top notch offices and image in the industry, cutting edge.
Cons – Regular mixed messages and double speak from the EVP level and up. Compete projects quickly but be thorough and take your time. Drive revenue/cut expenses this year but always focus on the long term. Nepotism and 'who you know' hiring throughout the centers and corporate.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop comparing the business to Australia or the UK... these centers are not in those countries. Take a moment and compare the US centers with their competition in each market. Stop focusing on this year's financials and focus on the long term. Understand that tension between departments is not a good thing and just frustrates employees and wastes time that could be spent tending to the business.

I have been working at Westfield
Pros – Location of Corp offices and location of assets. Options to move to different locations and departments.
Cons – It's your typical corporation where it's who likes you and not about the results that will get you ahead. Tough to get ahead unless you cover everyone's mistakes instead of being open about what went wrong and how can we learn from it as a team.
Advice to Senior Management – If the department is losing money you should replace leadership not the supporting staff. Especially when leadership never shows up.

I have been working at Westfield
Pros – Favorable compensation. Office has wonderful views of Santa Monica and the Los Angeles basin. Company name recognition.
Cons – Management is often unknowledge and rude.
Training is nonexistent. Expectations are high, although expectations are not communicated. Praise is rarely given. Managers have a habit of speaking down to their staff.
Knowledge and hard work are not determinate in deciding who receives promotions. Turnover is high due to mistreatment. People quitting after a couple months is not uncommon.
No documentation exists for policy or procedures.
Advice to Senior Management – As the economy improves, Westfield turnover will only get higher.

Pros – Well known company to be put on your resume
Cons – Extremely high turnover at certain departments of the corporate office
So much politics
Work you like a dog
Unrealistic deadlines all year round, you hear me, all year round, not just a month or two
Advice to Senior Management – Start caring about your employees who put in those insane hours for you
