Cons – lack of accountability. Retrenches every year or two. HR tends to be very inefficient.

Advice to Senior Management – know who are your really good people are, hold on and reward them..

Great way to learn about the consumables industry

Cons – Flat lined career. Not many doors open up.
Chaotic and unorganized environment.

Pros – strong bottom line for over 10 years
obvious outlet for products via Loblaws
great brands (e.g. Wonder)
only cross-Canada bakery in all bakery segments

Cons – short-term focus
organization is too lean - too much to do for too few people. So, not enough time to plan for future

Advice to Senior Management – match expectations of staff to capabilities and available time
create robust processes with adequate support for systems and skills to create, implement and monitor them.
