Lots of department heads who grew from the ranks. Good for growth opportunities, bad for lack of management skills.

Blue-chip Canadian company with strong brands in the food sector.

I have been working at Weston Foods

Prosstrong bottom line for over 10 years
obvious outlet for products via Loblaws
great brands (e.g. Wonder)
only cross-Canada bakery in all bakery segments

Consshort-term focus
organization is too lean - too much to do for too few people. So, not enough time to plan for future

Advice to Senior Managementmatch expectations of staff to capabilities and available time
create robust processes with adequate support for systems and skills to create, implement and monitor them.
greater delegation of decision making
