I have been working at Wet Seal part-time

    Pros

Great opportunities for growth, company really cares about its employees, really fun environment to work in. A great part time/full time position for a young person or someone in transition (recent high school and college grads)

    Cons

Corporate only cares about making money, lots of turnover in management positions, sometimes employees are overworked and work ridiculously long hours because of constant changes in management

    Advice to Management

Focus less on the how money is being made and focus more on the demographic (18-25) you are trying to reach. Most 22 years old women do not want to shirts about Kylie Jenner. Provide more incentive for store managers to stay with the company

I have been working at Wet Seal part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It can be a fun work environment, everyone is nice to each other, you can wear whatever you want to work, and it's fun helping customers pick out outfits.

    Cons

Typical retail stuff, lots of work for not a lot of pay, short shifts, hours are unpredictable and easily cut, and the company is dying. Also they have on call scheduling, which is really frustrating when trying to make plans. You only get a 10 minute break.

  9. Company lacked order, my staff made it worth while.

I worked at Wet Seal full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I had an amazing staff. Discount wasn't bad. I had some really good people working around me who helped me work my way up. The employees in the stores and the staff made coming in worth it.

    Cons

The company's vision was unclear. After working there for several years, I could tell they had no idea who the customer was. The store that was supposed to be junior retail would carry adult lingerie items. Furthermore, I was informed that I would lose my job about 5 days prior to the store closing. The upper management lied continously insisting the stores would be revamped with new merchandise. My store went into black friday with September clearance -_- then the company had the nerve to set those impossible unattainable goals. No one wants to buy the same " I woke up like this" screen tee in 10 colors. Imagine waking up to that on Christmas. But I digress. I have an extensive list of complaints and could rant forever.

    Advice to Management

Put some better training practices into place to help with growth and development of employees. Loss prevention is a joke! Goals would be unrealistic with no ideas on how to reach them. Pay the extra money for a credible shipping company. That is all.

    Pros

Great discount, cute clothes, easy work

    Cons

Upper Management picked favorites and even if you worked harder than any other employee if you weren't the favorite you got no where

    Advice to Management

Please stop hiring only your friends to work there and trying to push out anyone who wasn't a "friend"
