I worked at Wet Seal part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The other sale's associates I worked with were really fun. Very fast paced, & goal oriented.

    Cons

Management was terrible made it very unbearable to work there. I was attending school at the time & they were unwilling to work with me on my schedule.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider speaking to employs instead of screaming.

I have been working at Wet Seal part-time for less than a year

    Pros

No benefits except associate discounts for part time employees.

    Cons

Management is pretty unorganized, managers sometimes don't show up on time or sometimes not at all, so you're waiting outside for minutes to even hours. Managers have been caught shoplifting and when it was reported to the district manager, they did nothing at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should look into employees backgrounds. One manager was rehired after being fired for "internal issues" and caused a branch to close down and yet they were rehired and is still doing the same thing at this location.

I have been working at Wet Seal part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Love all of the people that I work with, they make working there worth while. More hours during the winter.

    Cons

Grumpy customers every now and then -- no matter what customer service job you work, you have to deal with them though. Hours decrease during the summer (at least where I work they do)

I have been working at Wet Seal full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This job gives you the opportunity to get used to the hustle and bustle that can be retail.

    Cons

As a store manager there is not a good work-life balance. You are expected to work long hours to get everything done. And the pay is so low that it is not even worth it.

    Great employee discount

    Cons

    Slow progression rate
    Little pay
Can be considered "too stressful" when dealing with different rules and regulatory compliance

You can be fat, lazy, stupid and not care about doing a good job.

I have been working at Wet Seal full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Hmmm.... None really the clothes are cheap, so I never used my discount

    Cons

Utterly unorganized and the company has NO direction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring managers who piggy back off the work that their assistants do. This is by far the WORST job I have ever had and I am very fortunate to be able to quit before finding another job. Our store in particular is in the "ghetto mall". We are constantly finding sensors BY THE HANDFULS (swear... No exaggeration) but instead of them giving us more payroll for coverage, they rather have 2 on 2 coverage on Saturdays and have the managers be the associates, security, control the fitting rooms, and try to run the floor. I HATE my job. The clothes are so cheap that if you farted them you would split a seam. My store manager is incompetent and she never knows what she's doing. Oh... But she knows how to go take hour and a half lunch breaks on the clock. I am VERY happy to get up outta there.
