I worked at White Glove Technologies

    Pros

White Glove is a fast growing company with an ambitious management team. Sometimes they bite off too much, but the management is open to feedback and the environment is challenging. There's lots to do and for anyone who wants to accelerate their career, there are a lot of opportunities. The company values engaged employees.

    Cons

Sometimes the management team is so focused on growing, that they forget to give feedback. There are a lot of new managers and they need some training and time in their jobs. Some people in management spend too much time longing for the "old days", when the company was really small....get with it !

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the people who are in the way. Everything wasn't great when we were tiny. Help the new owners or go home.

I have been working at White Glove Technologies

    Pros

You will get to talk with a lot of different people. You will get to work on a lot of technologies on a daily basis. Some of the middle management are good at what they do. There are a lot of neat toys for people in the office to play with for stress relievers.
They are working to improve some aspects of the company.

    Cons

Horrible communication within the company. You may have up to 4 bosses on any given day. Forget about personal life, raises, or your love for going to work.
If you get on the wrong "team", you will be in for a world of confusion. Some of these managers have never managed and it shows. Your Vacation and Sick time are rolled into one, and the holidays off are minimal.

If you are thinking about leaving your current job for this one, really consider how bad it is. It can always get worse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Minimize the management staff. You have managers for managers at times.
Communication is key. Have one set of guidelines, and stick to it. Everything seems to be grey.

I have been working at White Glove Technologies

    Pros

White Glove has very competitive salaries compared to competitors in Austin. Very fast moving environment in a growing industry. Family Friendly

    Cons

Growing too fast without a solid plan for how growth affects employees . Benefits are not great. Culture changing too much with the acquisitions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs a better understanding of what issues employees are experiencing. There is currently a disconnect which is only going to get worse as the company grows.

I have been working at White Glove Technologies full-time

    Pros

Carey Balzer treats his people well, He values having good people around him and is a true entrepreneur. The company has really tried to cultivate a fun workplace environment.

    Cons

Communication is absolutley horrible. I agree with other posts that say most of the managers need more training. Compensation needs improvment especially outside of HQ.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Never stop learning and listen twice as much as you speak.

    Pros

    On the Job training
Leadership eager to improve workplace for everyone
Range of knowledge only limited to your ability to take it on something new

    Cons

Never a slow moment, you will always be working
With so many kinds of clients, it is hard to specialize

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire dedicated specialists in most common products to help speed up support and allow rest of support team to fix smaller issues with greater speed.
