I worked at White Plains Hospital Center full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Management seemed to genuinely care about staff and encouraged growth and learning. Decent salary. Opportunities for continuing education available. Appreciation for all levels of staffing.

    Cons

Seemed to be a stepping stone for many employees-- a lot of people would start here and leave after a year to go to a larger hospital.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find incentives for staff to remain at the hospital-- when everyone seems to be leaving to go to a bigger hospital it seems like things must be better elsewhere, whether or not it is true.

I worked at White Plains Hospital Center full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits no Obama care, pension plan, dental coverage, vision eye glass coverage, they offer you a chance to join the credit union.

    Cons

Management watches every move you make, it takes a long time to know whether you are approved or not for a day off, the new magnet program has everyone walking on eggshells.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

? Put yourself in your employee's shoes, show a little respect for your workers, especially older seasoned employers that are almost ready to retire, and fearing for their jobs/pensions. I witnessed management speaking down to a hard working employee who never takes a lunch/sits at her desk and eats, just waiting to retire.

I worked at White Plains Hospital Center part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Consistent hours and great benefits are all a wonderful benefit to working at WPH. The hospital has also undertaken a major initiative to take care of the health of their employees. This includes healthy meal options, within the cafeteria, at very reasonable prices for employees.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the culture here at WPH is not very accepting of new employees. Senior members use intimidation as a way of accomplishing a task. While one would expect teamwork to be present, there is much disunity among health professionals. Unless you are a physician, do not expect to be treated with much respect.
