    Pros

Seemed to always be busy, so always made good money. Good snacking food for before or after your shift, and you only had to pay two thirds of the menu price.

    Cons

Management was not that great, I always found that they meant well, but were fairly ineffective. Management at corporate seemed to have no sense of what it was like to work in a restaurant.

  2. The worst management I have ever worked for

    Pros

The regular customers were awesome, a good restaurant atmosphere.

    Cons

The worst management I have ever worked for. They were inconsistent, did not train new staff properly at all, every day they would want you to turn around and do something differently so you couldn't keep track of what they wanted you to do or not do. They would also make you a lot of promises about hours and scheduling then at the last second change their minds so your paycheques were completely unreliable. If I could get back the two years I worked there I would, don't work for them its not worth your time.

    Advice to Management

Actually try to find out how your staff at ALL locations are being treated.

    Pros

-good money only if you are a server

    Cons

    -no personal growth
-no pay raises for front of house staff
-servers are resented for making more money than everyone else
-expected to handle a lot of tables and work load
    -high stress environment
-not a lot of support offered
-hourly wage is a joke for front of house employees
-harassment in the workplace, management did not discipline or intervene
    -management puts customers above employees
    -training is a joke

    Advice to Management

There are so many more cons I could think of. The first and most important thing: start taking care of your staff and showing appreciation for them!!! When your staff is happy your customers will also be happy. Owner and management seems to realize that without customers they would have no business. Why don't you realize that without employees you would have no business?! The way the staff is treated is an absolute joke. Although I will admit on busy nights you can make upwards of $100/night in tips, other restaurants will offer even better tips with a more pleasant work environment. Don't work here unless you are willing to lose all of your dignity for some quick cash.

    Pros

I have had the chance to work in a franchised location, and my job has been awesome. Tons of training, a gm that cares about his staff. (Sometimes to a fault) I have had bi-annual reviews, great bonus structure. I have worked in restaurants for 20 yrs and this by far is the best company to work for.

    Cons

The pay scale between a GM and other managers is way too different. Also, very little room for advancement after the Gm. The concept is struggling between its old fashioned roots, and modernization, which leaves guests confused. Its hard to be everything to every person.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice to know that even franchised managers, if they work hard enough might be able to ascend higher than Gm.

    - do not look after employees at all
    - customer is always right attitude which undermines employees

    Pros

Great training, slightly above minimum wage pay, great team, good managers, good tip pool,

    Cons

Large portions of kitchen responsibilities fall to the entry level employee, slow to train into new position, if you can only work part time prepare to be stuck in the same position for a while, environment can be stressful, be prepared not to take all comment personally.

    Advice to Management

Training for positions should be based on seniority.
