I have been working at WhiteWave as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Great team, seems like they genuinely care about employees, accessibility to management, growing quickly, compensation, the company culture is certainly more laid back, schedule

    Cons

growing quickly, have been moved around a couple times to make room for new employees. goals are hard to achieve with the constant expansion. Had to stretch to come up with cons.

I have been working at WhiteWave full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

WhiteWave is no better or worse than any other large corporate conglomerate. The company as a whole is doing well financially, growing at double-digit rates annually for some time, which is the highest among the top 25 food companies by revenue. But if your goal is to become filthy rich, it's no different here than anywhere else. You'll have to endure the rate race and scrounge political favor over long periods of time maximizing credit for accomplishments and dodging blame for mistakes.

    Cons

2:00 Fridays, work-life, lunch runs / bike rides aren't happening here despite promises. With recent acquisitions, it's only getting worse, and people are jumping ship. I just got here and already I'm looking to exit. The culture is worlds detached from the laid-back, easy-going, Boulder-esque corporate climate that was promised. It's no different anywhere else, but WW loooooves to think they are special. Sorry, but they're not. Expect long hours for little thanks and even less compensation. And if you're in Finance, you're overhead and won't exist.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be the typical corporate cronies if that's what you promise not to be. There's too many opportunities available with the thousands of other soul-crushing corporate establishments out there. And they pay better.

Former Employee - Associate Brand Manager in Denver, CO

I worked at WhiteWave full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Very high salary, especially given the generally-lower cost of living in Denver. Excellent training ground for brand management. Brand opportunities vary from general management, innovation-heavy, or media/marketing-heavy depending on the brand. Highly analytical role.

    Cons

Lots of evening and weekend work expected, very corporate environment. A bit of analysis paralysis happening across the board.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees in a personal, real way. Get to know them, and not as part of a mentoring program. Be honest about it.
