    Pros

The best reasons to work here include the general, friendly environment and the openness of staff if you have any questions or concerns related to the position.

    Cons

Some of the challenges of working here include the pacing, when things are slow they're very slow and when things pick up, they really pick up, you have to be flexible

    Advice to Management

Unrelated to the job position, but a note for upper management at Whittier: Actually listen to the student body's demands and interests, it reflects poorly on the rest of the academic setting when it's so clear that there's a disconnect between higher up staff and the students they're meant to be serving.

    Long and tedious orientation process.
    Some unenthusiastic and nonchalant freshman.
Sometimes freshman abuse your willingness to help.

    Cons

Assignments are usually due within 5-7 days, still not much of a con.

    Pros

Very understanding employers, gave lots of time off for student activities. Lots of employee appreciation events and perks. Community work setting.

    Cons

Not enough oversight. Impersonal- I never dealt with upper management, only my immediate supervisor.

    Pros

Professors all care about you and will take the time to meet with you when needed. The community in general is very supportive and helpful.

    Cons

Scholarships do not protect students from increases in costs. The administration only cares about money and chooses policies that benefit the bottom line at the expense of the students.

    Advice to Management

Do not make new dorms without creating extra parking. Quit building unneeded athletic projects.

    Pros

While working here I was able to choose my own hours and pick from a wide range of assignments to work on. My supervisor was easy to contact and was always available to provide support as I needed it.

    Cons

Being paid minimum wage is always a drag, also no benefits. Work always picks up during the beginning of the semester and dies down at the end.
