    Pros

Cool team members to work with, good starting pay for non-unionized job at $10, 20% discount, good training, bonus incentives including gain sharing and Cool Beans where you can eventually get money from based on the number you receive, free food tasting for TMs during the holidays, TM appreciation week, TM sponsored events like softball and basketball games, gifts raffled off after the store meeting, everyone encourages growth.

    Cons

The store itself has gone downhill in the last few years. Once on the top of its game, politics got in the way and ruined it. Team members on all levels are pressured to be the "best" and remain the "best" especially since it's the flagship/tourist store of the area. With that pressure comes new programs and initatives to learn about, long hours and many work days (working 7+ days straight - say from Wed through Sun one pay week and then Mon and Tue on a new pay week - is not something odd here). Some of management participate in favoritism with certain team members. In order to move around, it's like you have to be an overachiever who "drinks the kool-aid" so to speak and turns a blind eye on the obvious negative things. Health insurance is unbelievably high for PT20 team members ($99/check). Paid breaks are very short for the time you are standing around - 15 minutes for up to 7.5 hour shifts and 30 minutes for 8 hours. Attendance policy is ridiculous with a "3 strikes and your out" mentality. Too many people were written up or fired for attendance, especially the ones who take public transportation.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to be the best in everything and work with what you have. So many great team members left because of the pressure put upon them. Customers love it here at Plymouth Meeting because of the friendliness and helpfulness of the TMs, besides the great products. Not all the glitz and glam. Be more lenient with the attendance policy, especially for ones on public transportation. We lose so many people over this and it puts stress on other TMs who have to do double work. The buses are fickle and most run 30-60 minutes at a time. Plus after work, TMs should not have to run for buses because they needed to complete some project before leaving. Give them that time.
