I worked at Wichita State University part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Clear guidance but freedom of action. Flexible time, close cooperation between departments and advisers. Comprehensive manufacturing, testing and analyzing facilities.

    Cons

Attitudes of mid-level office assistants and supervisor is not conducive to research. Raising health and safety or security issues to show 'who is the boss', is not only counter productive but undermines the gravity of the actual subject.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Unified command and control with clearly defined channels and regulations are better choices than old grumpy superintendents driving wedges between intellectuals and administration.
