I have been working at Wild Waves Theme Park part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The hours are great for being a part time job, I get scheduled for up to 37 hours a week most of the time. The atmosphere is awesome, full of friendly and nice people and...YOU ARE AT A THEME PARK!!! It is just fun! Plus in Rides you get to operate giant machines and interact with people with is a lot of fun. It is easy to bond with employees and make friends, and awesome summer events are scheduled by the theme park. (Employee parties, an annual football game between Rides and lifeguards)

    Cons

The first couple promotions (breaker, trainer) don't raise your pay, which is $9.32/hour (minimum wage). At times work is tedious and exhausting, but hey that's work almost anywhere. Food in park is expensive and employee discounts are very small.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give better employee discounts on food and maybe even supply employees with free drinks. And maybe consider raising Trainers' pay a little bit.

I worked at Wild Waves Theme Park full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Great hours and great flexibility

    Cons

Management, cleanliness, and overall efficiency at foods is pretty bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At least respond to employees if you don't want to re-hire them. Had a manager contact me out of the blue saying he really wanted me back I asked when I would start and he said would get back to me. I called him and emailed him plenty of times with no response. Was told I was going to get re-hired only to be ignored and have a late start on the summer job search for 2013.

I worked at Wild Waves Theme Park full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You get two free Wild wave tickets each paycheck. Really good discounts on foods and drinks in the park. Other employees are easy to work with.

    Cons

The park gets really busy. On sunny days you could get burned. You'll need lots of patience while dealing with a lot of customers. Its only a Seasonal job.

I worked at Wild Waves Theme Park

    Pros

Being a lifeguard here is fun.
You bond with other lifeguards very well, many friends to make.
    35% discount!
    Great, fun management.
A chance to enhance social skills very much.

    Cons

8.75 per hour wages, which isn't much compared to other lifeguard wages I have heard of elsewhere.
On cold days, you still have to work, and it gets super cold.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is nothing I can say wrong about you guys/girls. All of the supervisors were extremely professional, but still knew how to have a lot of fun.

I worked at Wild Waves Theme Park

    Pros

It's a seasonal position that allows you to maximize your earnings in the summer, without putting a strain on school work.

    Cons

Lack of acknowledgement and reward for extra-hard work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward those employees who are your greatest asset so that they feel valuable and won't be tempted to look for work elsewhere.

I have been working at Wild Waves Theme Park

    Pros

I loved the people who worked the Retail department. We always had fun and joked around, but we also got pretty good at working together when things got busy.

Great hours for a summer job, especially one that employs so many minors.

Lots of job openings every summer, hires large volume of employees.

    Flexible about availability

    Cons

If you have to take days off, you have to request 2 weeks in advance or you have to take "points" or switch shifts with someone.

Won't let you work more than 40 hours a week,

    minimum wage

"point" system not very forgiving. Was a minute late to work and lost 3 of the 20 points allotted for the season.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a less complicated shift schedule.
