    Pros

Easy job as a lifeguard, decent pay. The management was relatively friendly, but not very available to lower level employees. Hours were good some days.

    Cons

There was definitely a nativist element considering all of the foreign students. Some were very well liked and accepted by the American staff, others relatively ostracized.

    Advice to Management

I think the management should concentrate on getting to know better the foreign workers that comprise most of their staff. Bad lifeguards should be more actively weeded out.

    Pros

Pretty good & upbeat management team.
Flexible schedule based on you availability.
Can be a fun place to work if you get along with people.

    Cons

You are replaceable, if a manager does not like you they will find a reason to fire you, weather they have just cause or not. (This happened to a friend of mine, he got athletes foot from the resort, came to work with a doctors note saying he should not get into the water, they sent him into the water anyway, and when he complained later he was fired. He was able to collect unemployment because his case worker agreed that he had been wrongly fired)
High stress. (If someone drowns in your area of responsibility legal action will be taken against you, If someone gets hurt or becomes ill to any degree you have to respond quickly & not make any mistakes or you will be demoted/fired)
Long exposure to chlorine can be detrimental to your health.

    Advice to Management

Switch all pools to saltwater cleaning systems.

    Pros

Flexible Schedule. Great Reward Programs and Acknowledgement. Cross-train in multiple locations of the resort. Employees get to be consistantly working with people from different backgrounds each day.

    Cons

Lack of training. Limited benifits. Management very rude and unprofessional to other employees, managers, and even the customer. Lack of empowerment for associates. High turnover rate. Toxic culture.

    Advice to Management

Put in place a better training program that allows employees feel comfortable with their job and also empower employees to be able to create memories with guest and have fast recoveries when the guest is having a negative experience.

    Pros

Beautiful facilities and friendly staff. Employees ger to swim for free during certain hours. They have good discounts for their nice golf course.

    Cons

VerypPoor pay. Total lack of respect from the Management. Awful communication. The left hand never knows what the right is doing. Greedy and unorganized.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. Certain managers show no flexability and rule with an iron fist. Make your employees happy and they will work harder.
