I worked at Willamette Valley Medical Center

    Pros

Because of their location, they are able to service the local population for many of their needs.

    Cons

Communication between management and the regular staff is practically non-existent, or if a plan is verbalized, it may often fall through. There is significant disrespect among staffs members themselves, as well as management towards staff members. There are also the chosen golden staff that can do no wrong. The unfair aspect if this is easy visible by others. The stability of the company is questionable, having been through two buyouts in a years time. Diversity is not one of the company's strong suits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The entire facility should consider converting to a non-for profit company. Good luck.

I have been working at Willamette Valley Medical Center

    Pros

I love working here, and the staff are all nice. there are lots of chances to learn new things, and to grow in your career.

    Cons

The location is very far from much. I want to go back to school, but it would take me an hour to drive to school after work from any direction for Nursing.

I have been working at Willamette Valley Medical Center

    Pros

    Location
    Small town
    Wonderful co-workers (nurses, doctors)
    Ummm?

    Cons

    All about the bottom dollar
    Always understaffed
    Poorly managed
    Pay rate stinks
    Over-worked, underappreciated

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the suggestions and desires of the employees and hear what it is we are really needing/wanting. No other hospital in the Oregon area is run as "bare bones" as we are or over-works their nurses the way our hospital does. You are burning us out and we are looking elsewhere because of it.
