I worked at Willdan Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Work flexibility, Management and overall staff. Co workers are cool and miss the family,
Workday is typical get out there and do audits, come back with results to the client and close. It's 70% rebate from Con Ed so why not!
It's all about attitude and how excited you can be about energy efficiency, lighting retrofit ext.
Definitely recommend for anyone wanted to work in the energy efficiency game.

    Cons

A few reporting issues, overall management vision and direction. Things that take time if no experience in the industry or for this program.
Many times it was the utility holding back a few ideas and marketing strategies that would of worked smarter not harder sort of speak. Overall, the pros over weight the cons and it was a great experience

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Willdan Group full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Interesting work, nice office, free coffee

    Cons

long work hours, low pay, no training, highly demanding management team, and minimal advancement opportunities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train all employees. Increase salaried pay to compensate for the long work hours, or move certain employees over to hourly so that they are well compensated for working 12+ hours per day.

I have been working at Willdan Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great projects, great camaraderie and exciting industry. I feel like we are making a difference and having fun doing it.

    Cons

Management, Management, Management. The company is on good financial footing but acts like it is still the depression. Motivate employees with trust and stop being cheap. Everything they do feels like it is centered around saving a buck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Vice Presidents (you know who you are!) should spend a week shadowing junior staff to learn just what it is that they do and what makes the company profit. As basic as this seems, it is a problem and leads to a lack of understanding between the priorities of management and actual work delivery.

I worked at Willdan Group full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I have never worked for a company as bad as Wildan.

    Cons

The job description is completely different than what you actually get to do. The job is mindless that I do not understand why they require a degree.

Politics are everything here. Never dare to say anything that sounds like criticism and do not trust anyone. The work environment is so stressful because of employee gossip that you will want to run out as soon as the clock hits 5.

According to my coworkers I was the fifth analyst is less than a year.

    Pros

Great boss before the crash and incorporation and new management.

    Cons

Lost management focus on the mainstay business line of the original company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out and let Wildan be employee owned.

I have been working at Willdan Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

A lot of upside potential, as very poor performing company currently

    Cons

Leadership rules by fear and intimidation. A very fast turning revolving door here....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership needs to spend more time leading, not managing. Focus on improving engineering team and strengthening business development
