I have been working at Wilson Sonsini full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Hardworking colleagues, nice campus, on site cafe, accessible managing partner

    Cons

Sweat shop work load and not a lot of work life balance. Human Resources/Recruiting drags their feet when there is turnover and the other employees have to pick up the slack which creates a lot of potential liablility until they get the next person hired and up to speed. WSGR has opportunities to contribute to the community, but expect you to do it on your own time, which becomes precious considering the high stress work load.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Aggressive recruiting to replace someone who leaves may prevent more people leaving and/or burn out for the human resources you still have.

I have been working at Wilson Sonsini full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a prestigious firm, the case are interesting and the people smart. New technology is constantly being introduced. Pay is competitive.

    Cons

Management has been in place too long, they act like a disfunctional family and some rule with an iron fist. There's only so far you can go in an environment like this before you have to give into the madness or move on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in new blood - homegrown managers with no college education may not be the best idea in the long-term.

Billable hours can be very stressful and competitive
Certain behaviors from certain individuals can be very unprofessional and repeated comments to HR are futile
