I have been working at Wilton Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Summer hours, casual work environment

    Cons

There's a lack of communication within teams and the whole company in general (no one hardly talks to each other on the same team). The implementation of a flexible work arrangement policy has been a joke since it is up to the discretion of your manager if they will allow you to take part in it.

    Advice to Management

Truly listen to your employees feedback/concerns and act on them. Not being heard or praised for our hard work makes an already overloaded and stressful job even worse.

    Pros

    Summer hours, reputable product group.

    Cons

Dated technology, clicky lower management tolerated by upper management

    Advice to Management

This is a business, not a sorority!

    Pros

1/2 day friday's during the summer

    Cons

The pay schedule is bi-monthly instead of every other week. This makes planning your budget or paying daycare troublesome at points - sometimes paydays are 2 1/2 weeks apart, sometimes almost 3 weeks.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the needs of the employees and the suggestions they would like to see during town hall meetings.

I worked at Wilton Brands full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Summer Fridays off at noon, tent sale discounts, product samples and baking tips from colleagues

    Cons

Benefits not standard and must be negotiated, structure in constant flux, lack of leadership, training, organization, transparency. Communication struggles abound.Product development rules the roust and all others serve at their pleasure. Unreasonable expectations led to work-life balance promises not kept. Fake people.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your employees better and stop looking the other way at the borderline corrupt business practices in your company.

    Pros

    Cons

You are treated as an independent contractor so you get paid once a month. Too much paperwork

    Advice to Management

Offer to pay commissions for products sold by and watch products flyoff the shelfs

    Pros

Somewhat flexible. Employees can trash on the company and CEO during the so called "Town Hall Meeting" - however the CEO trashes right back. Others say the CEO has to be realistic. Trying to think of the pros....Many, but not all of the people are the BEST people you wish to meet. One of the best Human Resources Department you can meet throughout your employment. Great Keurig coffee.

    Cons

Some departments very snobby. If you are business cordial to everyone you are looked down upon since you are speaking to those others dislike. If you are not liked well in the beginning its hard to change the attitude. Fortunately i did not receive this treatment but saw many who did. Too much management turnover. Unrealistic timetables as as others said in their reviews here. Poor raises for those that deserve it. Some departments get the standard raise for all, no matter what the employee effort is or goals accomplished. The back pay for raises prompt. Some departments have the review months LATE. . If you are in the office realize that things can change with what seems like no planning. .

    Advice to Management

Adive to ALL first. DOCUMENT everything. SAVE your emails. Stop acting like grade school. Treat employees with respect. Don't walk by them when they say hello to you. Quit putting 100 percent of the blame on the economy. Realize that employees know MORE than you think.

    Pros

Lots of professional development, opportunities to learn, great folks, several locations, open door policy, supportive environment. Paid time off to volunteer, nice benefits, summer hours, rewards and recognition throughout the year. Lots of creative types, relaxed atmosphere but strong teamwork-oriented.

    Cons

Growing pains within the company as we work toward implementing standard procedures and best practices. Some culture clash around the same issues, but great opportunities for those that can find a balance between the two and see the way forward.

    Advice to Management

Inter-department relationship-building should be addressed and emphasized from the top down.
