    Pros

    Great people to work with
    Good pay

    Cons

    Outdated insufficient knowledge base
    Little or no training

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer employees more training and better support in the way of an updated and comprehensive knowledge base. Promote from within the company to improve moral. Hire contract workers after a period of time instead of keeping "temps" indefinitely.

    Pros

A stable paycheck. Learn more about Banking/Retail business. Regular decent office rules. Supervisors can be rather lenient if you are in good standings. Some positions pay more than they should.

    Cons

Management does not recognize talent. Management and supervisors do not communicate very well to all departments. Many unnecessary barriers between departments within Wincor. No raises for a year, no matter the amount of work. Possible up to 2 years before seeing a increase in pay. No benefits outside of terrible staffing agencies options. May not get permanent status even after a year of good reviews. Have been known to take back raise/position offers on multiple occasions. Loud for a call center. No e-cigarettes inside. Manor office is a inconvenient location. Cannot have multiple holidays off in one year. Vacation and Holiday pay does not kick in till accumulated about a year of regular shift hours. No overtime generally depending on department. Does not terminate people who underperform or who are not a good fit. Money within the company could be better utilized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of waste management who cannot show improvement. A lot of unnecessary stagnation in most departments; sales, project, account, and support management all suffer from this. Recognize and promote within. Stop losing good, valuable people to other companies.

    Pros

Compensation keeps with the city average for a solid position, nothing outrageous though. Corporate has several great ideas about expanding into the American markets.

    Cons

While they have all these great ideas about expansion into the U.S. they haven't really thought any of them through very well. This company has a terrible habit of completely overhauling policies every 3 months if the wind blows a new way.

Wincor Nixdorf USA is perfect for anyone seeking a low paying, under-appreciated job with no possibility of advancement.

    I worked at Wincor Nixdorf

    Pros

Because of the overwhelming work load given to all of the lower level, under-appreciated employees, I was able to get experience in numerous areas, some beneficial to my career and some of which had absolutely nothing to do with my position.

This company makes any other job that you take seem like heaven. In addition, you learn very quickly that throughout any career, you will encounter numerous upper managers that think only of themselves and give almost no thought to the lower level employees actually performing the work.

    Cons

    Almost too many to mention.

The first red flags I experienced were the complete lack of training and the obivous signs of a long period of very high turnover. I was hired the same day as three other employees in the same position because all our predecessors had walked out about the same time. It seemed to be a temporary job for all that had come before us just to give themselves time to find better positions elsewhere. I soon found out why.

The senior management is in no way concerned with employee satisfaction. The culture is simply to do your job and keep your moth shut. Suggestions on improvements in any area are simply ignored. The few promotions that are awarded are not accompanied with pay raises, leading to more workload with no additional compensation.

Starting in Jan 2010 the company went to a no PTO policy essentially moving to the "honor system" for vacation time which is perfect for the company because now they can fire people without having to pay them for unused vacation time. Not to mention there is no way to get time off approved anyway.

Wincor operates on a strictly reactive (versus PROactive) business model. Every single thing the company does is an answer to the question of what it will take to make it through TODAY with no consideration to what effects it will have tomorrow. There are not so consistent processes so essentially every problem that is encountered requires starting from scratch.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually take notice of employee complaints and concerns. Include employee input in goal setting and strategy formation. Show some slight bit of employee appreciation. Modify company culture to be something less like a prison.

I have been working at Wincor Nixdorf

    Pros

The job feels fairly secure as long as you work hard and don't complain to the wrong person.

    Cons

Management does not care about the field personnel. There is absolutely no balance between work & personal life. If you work in the field you can forget about any personal life other than what you can squeeze in during the limited time off and frequent schedule changes. Two days off in a row is unheard of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show the employees you really care about them by really caring instead of saying you care. Actions speak louder than words.

I have been working at Wincor Nixdorf

    Pros

Because there is not very much structure, there is a lot of opportunity for improvement and growth. A good company if you do not like micromanagement.

    Cons

I feel upper management isn't effective in making change happen. The same behaviors with the same outcome has happened year after year. A lot of finger pointing, not a very positive work environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the corporate culture. Show more appreciation for the people that work extremely hard for the company. Offer better benefits.
