I have been working at Windsor Foods full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The Company has great benefits. The company culture is fun and overall easy going. The coworkers and local management were great and like family. The is an ability to move up and change jobs within the organization.

    Cons

Work is in a cold plant so dress appropriately. More resources could be put to infrastructure. The hours are sometimes long and there are some weekends required.

I worked at Windsor Foods full-time

    Pros

The corporate culture is good. They take care of people. The plant I worked at in Riverside had many people with decades of experience. The quality of the products was the gold standard for the company and were great products. The company was an asset to the local community and a decades old icon. The plant manager, HR and front line supervision was experienced and professional. The plant and people in it, for the most part, were able to overcome incredible obstacles and perform finely in dark hours.

    Cons

The production management was very poor. The production manager micromanaged his departments and seemed to actively attempt to create an atmosphere of distrust, suspicion, fear and negativity. It seemed like the production manager was always looking to make someone else look bad.
There were problems with governmental agencies (USDA).
Security cameras everywhere made people uncomfortable. The maintenance manager seemed to spend all his time at home watching cameras and looking for an opportunity to throw someone under the bus even though he worked very few actual hours at the plant.
Management relied too heavily on the opinions of outside consultants that wrote reports on the state of the plant despite spending less than 2 hours in the facility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You guys have a great company and great products. Overall, I am appreciative of having had the opportunity to work at this company. Maintain your core values of "nimbelosity" and focus on making quality hand held products.

I have been working at Windsor Foods part-time

    Pros

Nice office facility and great location in Ontario, CA. They are a big player in a stable industry.

    Cons

The company exploits temporary workers with unmanageable work loads. The manager of the accounts receivable department is very condescending and outright nasty in her attitude and tone when interacting with employees, especially temporary workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start treating workers with respect and you will have a much happier work place and see employee performance improve.

    Pros

This is a good place to work and there are a lot of good people to work with. The plant manager is a good leader.

    Cons

There are a lot of hours to work and it can be tiring, but the work environment is not hostile or anything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work and keep supporting your staff. Keep the communications open but ensure to follow the chain of command.
