    Pros

The office culture is very professional and the individuals at Winged Keel group are a pleasure to work with. In my past experience it can be difficult to work across departments but that is not an issue here. There is a strong sense of teamwork throughout the organization. Employees are encouraged to provide input and ideas at all levels and departments. There are training sessions offered on a regular basis to familiarize all departments with products. The company offers a strong benefits package and perks. Kitchen is always filled with snacks and drinks.

    Cons

Slightly short-staffed in a few departments.

I have been working at Winged Keel Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you're looking to join a work environment with an entrepreneurial spirit, then this is the place for you. At WKG, employees frequently collaborate on projects and all employees - at every level - are always invited to provide feedback about how to build on a culture of meritocracy. Perhaps the best part of the firm is that you are only limited by your desire to succeed; the firm is firmly rooted in the principle of meritocracy.

    Cons

The only con I can think of it not even a con; it is more of a unique aspect of the firm/industry than anything else. The insurance industry is perhaps less popular and glamorous than the financial industry, but some of the work that this firm is doing is actively reshaping that thought. They are trailblazers in many respects and there will likely be a learning curve in terms of getting familiar with the industry and product knowledge. The good news is that you will be surrounded by a team of people who will never force you to learn on your own.

    Advice to Management

Keep your doors open. Your staff loves hearing from you. Members of senior management have some pretty impressive backgrounds have pretty accomplished careers, but often times what is most inspiring about them is that they are a very congenial group of people - always polite in their interactions with you and always very encouraging and inviting. This type of attitude makes staff want to work really hard because at the end of the day you're working hard for people who are good-natured and fair.

I have been working at Winged Keel Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

All employees are invited to actively participate in shaping the firm's future. Whether this means providing regular feedback or offering suggestions, all thoughts/ideas - at every level - are welcome. Work is demanding but given the congenial work environment, no challenge is ever overwhelming.

    Cons

This is less of a con and more of a unique aspect of the firm. In many respects, the firm is a leader in the industry and pioneers in the types of services and products it offers. There will likely be a learning curve where knowledge of the industry and products specific to the company are concerned.

    Advice to Management

Keep your doors open. Management already goes above and beyond to make time to meet with employees individually and nurture their professional growth. My advice would be to keep it up; your staff is eager to learn from you and they look to you for motivation and direction.

    Pros

The people are fantastic. Everyone is willing to help. It's a very collaborative group of people who work really well together. Great perks like free snacks in the kitchen, and there is usually free lunch at least 1x per week with all the internal meetings and leftover food. The work is very challenging - you don't really ever get bored.

    Cons

The environment can be intense. Lots of detail oriented work, can be a bit perfectionistic too.

    Pros

The company culture is great. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The CRMs are all well-qualified and knowledgeable about the happenings in the life insurance industry.

    Cons

It is a smaller company, so there are less exit opportunities after working there. Also, the workload can add up during busy months.
