Worth every minute you work here, Ocean of Knowledge, You just need to be a GO-TO guy.

Team Lead (Current Employee)
Waltham, MA

I have been working at Wipro full-time for more than 5 years

ProsLots of peer support, Lots of knowledge, Gives you ample chance to do client engagement, great technical mindsets, huge resource pool, BIG knowledge sharing internal sites, comparative pay with its Indian counterparts, Focused on technical delivery of project. Every thing else is just like any other IT company. It is a competitive world!!!

ConsLacks in count of Mid level management who are experienced in subject areas/or project management. This is hurting WIPRO as a consulting company. This also hurts the aspirations of other team members as they remain as the same consultant as they were hired because of lack of projection and new opportunities while it slows down account mining.

Advice to Senior ManagementShould work on on boarding more managing consultants like E&Y and Deloitte. There are many advantages which I cannot complete writing here. This will help in client engagement, sustaining in the expert consulting areas and retaining the talent pool. Many of the clients already recognized WIPRO as a great value implementation partner and systems integrator. Business skills are different in each geography.

Sr. Business Analyst

Senior Business Analyst (Current Employee)
Boston, MA

I have been working at Wipro full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGood no. of clients. If you loose a project, it is easy to get absorbed in some other.
Good to join if you are looking to move to India after some time.

ConsSalaries below average in industry.
Mainly maintenance and enhancement projects.
Not much into new product development.
Not much chances for Green Card application as there are 8000+ people in USA on different visas in queue for it.

Advice to Senior ManagementFile more green cards. Do salary appraisals every year at least so that people can cope up with inflation and economy.

Better Company for a Go-Getter.

Technical Lead (Current Employee)
Boston, MA

I have been working at Wipro full-time for more than 5 years

ProsInfinite space for a resource to explore

ConsOld fashioned way of running business
Very Few Young leaders to motivate

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease maintain the ratio of young innovative/hardworking blood in the Leadership roles ,as the era of doing IT business is randomly changing and I feel adaptability is what we can develop more!

Senior Associate

Senior Associate (Former Employee)
Boston, MA

I worked at Wipro full-time for more than 3 years

ProsChance to work in different cities within the US, but mostly in Northeast, NY, NJ, MA.

ConsHave to be relocated to the cities where your project is. However, company will not provide living reimbursement. You have to pay for your own housing in the city where you work.
When the project is done, you have to look for your own project. There is no organize way to find available project.
Your manager could be different every year. Even though you may be assigned a manager, you rarely have face time with them.
The annual review is a joke. There is no discussion of the goals with managers. They will just hand down the list of goals and tell you to do them. Many of the goals are irrelevant to what you are doing.
The HR is probably the worst of all. No one will reply to email or phone call. When you finally reach someone, the usual response is "contact your manager".

Advice to Senior ManagementWhy bother?

It is a margin's firm

Business Analyst (Current Employee)
Boston, MA

I have been working at Wipro full-time for more than a year

Prosgreat place to get your foot on the door
if you are a self starter and demonstrate energy, you may do well
when you have an opportunity to work with other Wiproites, you meet great people
get to work with a lot of international folks

ConsLow pay
bad benefits
unable to allocate resources correctly
consultants may seat on the bench for too long
There is no support / you thrown with the sharks
it is about making the margin on top of your billable hours
mostly consultants, so it can be a very isolating environment
It has way too many layers of management. too many people... 120k plus

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't focus on the quarterly margin and look into a better long term strategy. Invest in quality resources to build stronger teams. Company is way too large and work-streams must be away of all the resource that the firm offers.
