I worked at Wipro full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I hated leaving the supervisor I worked with. The decision was out of his hands.

    Cons

Payroll. Payroll always messes up my paycheck. I can count on one hand the number of times they actually got my pay right. They automatically switched my tax status to exempt, so now I owe the IRS almost $3,000USD in back taxes because Wipro's payroll never updated my tax status after trying every avenue possible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people that actually know what they're doing in payroll and make people wear deodorant when working in the U.S.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You don't need to struggle to get new project. Mostly you will get something but may not be what you want to do. Good for college graduates only. My suggestion don't waste time here more then 2 years.

    Cons

    Poor business ethics
    Higher management is very insensitive.
No respect for employee work . They count every employee just headcount.
Only setting guys will have better opportunity. Divided company in horizontal and vertical. If you are in horizontal line then no career growth or opportunity to play higher role.
Higher management also lie and trick employees.
Green card they lie during hire and they have very bad history for GC.
HR and Immigration department is worst in the company. I understand they also work under pressure but not worth to ask anything to them.
Highly political environment and they are double faced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no personal growth, trainings and company values. Basically, you are just self centered and insensitive organization. Take my comments seriously and try to improve.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Wipro energy division is good to work. Better growth aspect and salary hike than other divisions within Wipro.
    Work as individual is smooth.

    Cons

A lot of bureaucracy. Difficult to work with other verticals/horizontal. Difficult to resolve internal issue like resourcing etc.
Difficult to get work done at offshore if your team is from horizontal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Awareness and strong measures needed for people who don't work and increase load of others but still remain in company. Also either it is vertical/horizontal once team is build team's manager should be looked as manager and not the individual's original manager should come save their member since overall everyone is wipro and goal is project success not a vertical/horizontal/group/individual's success.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Wipro paid the cost of a class that provides a valuable certification in my first six months. Whether or not employees get these opportunities depends on how good his or her manager is when it comes to securing money for the training budget.

    Cons

The cultural difference between India and the US makes it a struggle for US employees to communicate and navigate the company's systems and ways of working. The US and India's back office systems are not properly merged so the systems don't work and getting support is difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask about and resolve problems consultants are experiencing due to the cons described above. The US and India systems should be properly merged since they are supposed to be one company.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Fortunately it's very easy to get hired as an entry level hire here
    Interview process isn't too bad
Management is selling more and more projects, so always opportunities to shine

    Cons

Salary is ok relative to other comparable positions
Management is very rigid, not very innovative
There is a very high turnover rate in the Houston office
Some of the management here is very harsh in their dealings with their employees
Because this company is the low cost consulting firm, don't expect very prestigious projects and opportunities and/or very long engagements

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to learn to be more flexible with their employees and Wipro needs to offer a more competitive salary + benefits package.
