Pros – Large diverse client base. Known for application development, support and outsourcing. Decent growth and lot of opportunities.
Cons – Large employee base makes navigating company difficult for new comer. Old fashioned policies and autocratic management favor long time insiders.
Advice to Senior Management – Modernize policies and make them in line with top companies in the sector. Focus on meritocracy and new ideas. Take more risks.

Current Employee – been working at Wipro
Pros – They pay better base salaries now then when I joined. You can work at and get access to some great customer companies.
Cons – 16 hour days.
turnover approaching 40% in some areas; 25% in most other areas.
incompetent co-workers
uncompetitive offerings and pricing
not able to staff positions in the U.S. and have a tough time staffing positions in India
uncompetitive pay and bonus
unrealistic sales targets
unwilling to make any investments to grow or provide new and competitive offerings.
Advice to Senior Management – Management has just reshuffled again but there is still too many middle managers - they need to be eliminated. You need to hire competent U.S. leaders to lead in the U.S. Most U.S. managers are from India and came up through the ranks when you could send a dog or robot into a customer office and get a signature on an outsourcing agreement - no sales skill needed.
Most of the current U.S. management has no management or leadership skills or abilities.

Pros – Used to be that the freedom to operate the way you want used to be the best thing about Wipro. This is fast disappearing.
Cons – Management does not understand the market or how to establish strong relationships with clients. The new CEO has decided to crack the whip and flog the sales force. In the meantime, the core issues of creating service offerings that are up to scratch, fixing the resourcing supply chain and pre-sales linger. Paper tigers get promoted to management positions with little evidence of meritocracy. The company's attempts to 'localize' the workforce have rubbed existing employees, clients and outsourcing advisors the wrong way.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire leaders that have spent time in the local markets. Spend less time on brutalizing the back office.

Current Employee – been working at Wipro
Pros – for onsite employee, there is autonomy when performing jobs and plenty of visibility for networking. A person can grow at their own pace with little intervention from mgmt
Cons – No promotions, advance opportunity are given to PM coming from India. Very low leadership and finger pointing when project is not going right, onsite\offshore model not respected by upper mgmt and fighting between teams as no synergy between locations. Mgmt support to onsite is obsolute
Advice to Senior Management – Improve communicaiton with low level analyst, appreciate onsite performance and give adequate compensations, dont be cheap when considering customer needs - dont hire to the lowest bidder in order to maximize profits
