I worked at Wipro full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible depending on the department you work for. The work life balance is great. Great supportive supervisors. The departments work well together. The people are very helpful and willing to share information.

    Cons

Upper management is disconnected. The supervisors and even managers are unaware when layoffs occur. Management is mostly concerned with gaining clients rather than investing in employees. There should be an investment in both.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Invest in employee retention.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Wipro has a very flexible work environment and management provides the required resources and support to help you be successful in the role you are playing. Employees at all levels are encouraged to be leaders and to take ownership in everything they work on. There is no lack of opportunities in various areas.

    Cons

It is cumbersome to get new resources into projects and most projects in newer technologies have very challenging timelines. Progression and salary review processes are subjective and salaries are lower than industry standards especially if working at client site.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Smart people working hard to be 100% billable. Highly developed rules in place to provide operational framework.

    Cons

highly matrixed org. you are on your own to charter a career course. The rules system in place is also a negative since it eliminates many business opportunities. Like most IT service providers, it has few relationships on the business side and thus can not aid in driving improvements to business architecture and value at the enterprise level for its clients.

Good work culture, good opportunities to work on business domains

    Cons
