I have been working at Wipro full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

good for lateral hires as the retention is very poor so they have to hire at whatever pay people ask.

    Cons

Healthcare in US is so poor. Very high deductibles.
Salary hikes very less if you are a long timer and don't know how to 'deal' with managers.
    Certain unnecessary exams.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please think about giving healthcare at least at par with your competitors.

    Pros

Organization has large wings. Many clients and projects.
    Better relocation policies.
All policies are reasonable for such a big organization

    Cons

Forget hikes or promotions if you are positioned hikes.
People having bargaining capabilities with management get unusual hikes or retention bonus. This is a pathetic thing happens inside wipro.
Need to take many internal exams to prove your self.

    Pros

Process, Process & Process. Everything is process oriented. You will learn new standards, processes.

    Cons

Processes becomes bottleneck. If you can get 1 thing right in first attempt, you will be the luckiest one.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Higher Management keeps putting pressure on middle management and middle management keeps playing tricks to keep up with the number game.

    Pros

Certain technology practices have very knowledgeable and enthusiastic people. It is a truly engaging experience to work with them and the energy + positivity is infectious.

    Cons

The matrix structure and frequent re-organization stressed me completely. It is a struggle to get to the right SMEs internally. Leadership sucks .... sycophancy is encouraged and anyone who can kiss-up is rewarded !!

I worked at Wipro as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Good interview. One round of technical interview for a client. Interview is driven by client need. I was interviewed for Boston based Tech company. Interview starts with simple java and oops to resume detail and current project detail. It was good.

    Cons

Average pay and work depends on client project. Sometimes have to handle offshore call at night and delegation job. Good for students and start up. I wold not consider for long time.
