    Pros

Current Employee - Technical Lead  in  San Jose, CA
Current Employee - Technical Lead in San Jose, CA

I have been working at Wipro full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    1) Flexible work Timings.
    2) No strict dress code.
    3) Lot of projects so good learning opportunities in different domains, forget about other things and learn for 2-3 years and then switch.

    Cons

    1) Useless middle management, they don't have any technical capability. Only do people management not project management.
    2) Lot of unnecessary hierarchies. There will be many project managers, delivery managers, technical managers and program managers for one project where every one do only headcount tracking and billing tracking.
    3) Onsite salaries are pathetic. To clients they charge hefty amount and engineer get 30-40% only.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1) Clean up the unnecessary middle management, same maintenance cost can be distributed within engineers.
    2) Don't forget its a SOFTWARE SERVICES INDUSTRY, that means give importance software engineers.

    Employee friendly

    Cons

    Stringent salary stack

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Salary stack should be adjusted according to Employee ease , Salary hike should be well discussed with all employees rather than keeping mum for whole the year after.

Good Training opportunities depending upon area.

    Cons

    Worst Medical benefits. High deductible.
Don't have Nesh skill projects which forces people to look into market.
    No salary hike/bonus at onsite.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Wipro full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Cheap outsource for IT ignorant company's.

    Cons

WiPro's migration plan has a complete lack of transparency, they make client end changes without any notice - causing mass employee downtime. Ethical treatment of women, (first hand experience) I am not treated like my male counterparts, eg given limited access, having stripped authorities, constant speaking over top of me, and finally none of the issues I address are taken seriously until I request a male counterpart to repeat the exact message for me to my manager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seek management who can function as management and are culturally adept to where they are working.

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Wipro full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They are trying desperately to increase their US presence, and need workers to fill the jobs. Some come from the places they take over, but right now it's not enough to keep up the pace of growth.

This may be the only company I've seen that's paid more than lip-service to ethics. A question came up in a meeting of managers that I was able to sit in on and putting in the time and effort to do the right thing was emphasized over doing the easy (and more profitable) thing.

    Cons

Even though they are begging for US employees, nearly all the jobs I've seen offered are in India.

The management structure looks more like a spider's-web than the tree most US employees are used to. The result is that most low-middle managers have at least three supervisors who may have competing interests.
