I worked at Wipro full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Good company for global presence
    - Good projects, Technology and clients
    - Good to start the career (at offshore)

    Cons

    - Long term onsite with no career growth, so I wont recommend it to anyone who is looking for long term onsite or looking for settling in north america
    - onsite salary is sub-standard

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Run the company as Global organization, and treat employees in north america as local employee instead of onsite temporary workers
    - It doesn't mean that employee don't have to grow or get salary hikes if he or she is in onsite
    - Give onsite employees salary (specially in US) as per local standards, so that people will stay with company for long term

I worked at Wipro full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Nothing I think about after knowing the policy of it's competitor.

    Cons

Many ... They don't treat employees well. Also they treat ex-employees very badly.
You won't see this kind of culture (worst) in any other Indian company. Management I worked with are opportunist and they don't remember our contribution once you left them. Exploitation of is the main goal to achieve maximum profitability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should look into their exit policy and issue all the ex employees experience letter without any hesitation.
If you are BIG then you should do something BIG for the sake of your employees and ex employees.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Consulting group is very entrepreneurial. Lot of flexibility of movement for developing clients and content. Overall team approach of employees is good in addressing client needs. Solid capable employees

    Cons

Very sales driven culture. Worked when labor arbitrage model was driver of business. Business now needs to be more strategic but not managed that way. Short term tactical numbers focus. While this is important in any business there has to be some balance of longer term investment. Indian culture is very driven by relationships and connections as opposed to merit. Lot of back room dealings on allocation of sales credits. Non Indians are treated as second class citizens at some level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in strategic resource placement in verticals. Look beyond short term numbers for impact and measure employees on more qualitative contribution measures in addition to sales, margins, CSATs, etc. Don't abandon that just balance it with long term growth. Average size of deal and trends. Feedback from senior executives beyond CSAT.

    Pros

Good opportunities in infrastructure Services space. Performing very well in the BSM space, many projects/opportunities in pipeline, bright outlook atleast for next 5 years. Good work life balance. if you are looking for onsite opportunities high probability of getting long term onsite assignment.

    Cons

Low compensation when compared with the market rate, salary increments/performance reviews extremely biased based on your relationship with Managers.
