ConsExtremely difficult culture to work in; departments would constantly blame each other for mistakes and there was not room for professional growth

Only concerned with the bottom line, not with employees' professional development

Catering Sales Manager (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsAmazing benefits!!!! Considerable compensation. High profile clients.

ConsA very poor corporate culture. High stress environment. Tons of politics. Little room for growth. The corporate nature of the company stifles any and all creativity. A dying business that's hard to sell.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmbrace your less experienced employees and the different strengths they can bring to the table. Help them grow and develop to bring long term change to the company

nice kitchen to work in but hectic at times, not enough space. fast paced and exiting at times.

First Cook (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsGreat place for newcomer that want to learn catering banquets style cooking.
and for those that are in that specific field a good chance to learn more of the catering trade part of it
-menus and recipes are geared to simplify cooking in different situations with great results.
    -quality is good and consistent,

Cons-Management only cares on meeting the dateline[rather than the quality] and delivering the goods in time sometimes the other 50% depends on the F.O.house service. for the overall impact of the name WP.
-Stewarding department doesn't really helps that much in delivering the product and setting up the events.- [cooks grow discouraged in time when delivering carts back & for from events].
-No parking - No decent employee meals and awful restrooms Locker room.

Advice to Senior Management..[Please put the money in upgrading the employees restrooms, and more healthy food choices for the employees meal, .re-orginize stewarding in order to take full charge in delivering food carts to all events,.cook are there to cook NOT TO DELIVER FOOD CARTS.

Amazing experiences and people but unreliable paycheck.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGet to be a "fly on the wall" at events for the rich and famous and see things I never would otherwise in my life.

ConsThe work is unreliable. It is impossible to budget when you don't know how much work you are going to get from week to week. There is little room for advancement.

Innovative food but at the cost of employee job satisfaction

Kitchen Manager (Former Employee) Hollywood, CA

ProsGreat food and elaborate events. You get access to work at events that are very exclusive and for very top level clients. The Chefs are this companies greatest asset as they are very hard working, fair, and very good at what they do. The Chef partners know how to get the job done and though they work mostly in Culinary, have a great sense of business and how to operate a company such as this.

ConsEmployees are treated terrible by top level management. If you are salaried, you are expected to live at work with little compensation. Top management makes it very apparent money is more important than employees and they will fire a manager then rehire 2-3 people a month later because it was a "slow" month.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on employees as they are the best asset you have. 90% of the employees that work for you are very dissatisfied.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
