    Pros

Good benefits package. Salary is solid. The workload is manageable. Paid time off is generous, especially if you don't get sick.

    Cons

Few opportunities for advancement, at least in this business unit. A fear of being innovative. very much behind in technology and the pursuit of making work loads easier. Horrible at communication to their employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro-managing and try a bottom up approach to try to generate some new ideas.

    Pros

Brilliant staff all victims of the system brought in under false pretenses, On site canteen, 9-5 hours.

    Cons

Don't do it!!! Unless you are happy with picking up a below average basic wage do not join WK as the targets are unrealistic, the database is the same small pool of clients who get harassed over and over again as the company does not invest or let you ring anyone outside of their outdated system, the management are headless chickens. Redundancies is an annual occurrence and the line managers way of motivating you is to threaten you with HR disciplinary hearings.

    Advice to Management

For such a big organisation how can you be getting it so wrong. Stop thinking the buck falls with the sales guys and start looking a bit closer to home.

    Pros

During my time there was a strong cadre of highly-experienced staff, though they were constantly being eroded through what seemed like never-ending rounds of redundancy. Generally nice, friendly people, committed to their field of work, willing to muck in and cooperate. Strong product range in the professional tax and accountancy areas. Profitability now improving and bringing more stability as regards the threat of yet more redundancies.

    Cons

Moderate to poor management, with a high turnover: if someone was promoted internally beyond line manager level, you knew their days were numbered: redundancy within 18 months, or they'd use the post as an opportunity to move on. Poor articulation and consistency of strategy. Horrendous sums wasted on SAP and other consultants. No recognition of staff achievement: you could have people in certain departments working regular unpaid overtime to 7 or even 8pm, out of commitment and interest in their work, and others virtually running for the exits at 5pm, and it made no difference to your career prospects: management and HR didn't even notice and seemed oblivious to anything below line manager level. Poor pay, with virtually no annual increments: the only way to get any kind of pay rise was to threaten to leave and ask your line manager to spend some brownie points with the higher-ups. Perpetually diminishing benefits.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your staff: reward measurable achievement, offer a direction of travel and reasons to be cheerful!

    Pros

Benefits and flextime and we can work from home if needed

    Cons

Embarrassing pay after many loyal years

    Advice to Management

Give merit raise instead of splitting the pot. Some people work harder then others and some do not work there full 40 hrs nothing ever gets done about it

    Pros

PTO Work environment Mostly good people Quarterly bonuses if goals are met Great training program

    Cons

Middle Management has no experience Upper management doesn't understand business Company offers a lot of PTO but expects you not to take it or work while on PTO

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging and trust your employees to do their jobs. Get rid of the people that shouldn't be there and focus on maintaining the good talent.

    Pros

Some very talented people within the company.

    Cons

No specific search direction from management: directors did what they wanted, in some instances too much micro-managing and in others not enough

    Advice to Management

take a strategic stand and implement it for everyone to follow

    Pros

    Good pay, benefits and location.

    Cons

Was not honestly told up front what my job duties would be.

    Advice to Management

Tell them what they will be doing. Sitting and tied to a cubical and monitored constantly.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Laid back attitude. Not much hour to hour tracking.

    Cons

Only certain people coming from certain consulting firms get recruited. Recruiters work like commission agents in this company. Internal employee referred joining is not even 5%. You are noticed not by your talent or your work, you are rewarded by the meetings that you attend and raise your concerns prolonging the meeting time. This is a place where your annual appraisal rating is determined by the various committee meetings that you attended and not by the real efforts you put into your work. There is no proper planning for employee development but a random effort is shown sometime from March every year. Nothing is done for retaining good employees and nobody in management cares if it impacts the team when a good team member leaves.

    Advice to Management

Serious issues with GIC Pune management. Its time for an overhaul in your policies.
