    I worked at Wolters Kluwer

    Pros

It's a large company, so lots of things are always going on. Company values are impressed upon entire company on a regular basis. Jobs are very stable. Work/life balance is good since you can't really overwork yourself, so you end up with a lot of free time.

    Cons

Hardly any kind of bonus/reward system for going above and beyond. People are congratulated on just meeting the goals set forth rather than exceeded them. Hard to move up in company when there is no value in doing so. Salary is typically middle of the road or below the local average. Management does not foster growth but hinders it.

I worked at Wolters Kluwer full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Big company (is that a pro?), nice office, fair benefits (though health is not competitive), fair compensation. Convenient to transportation. Having trouble completing the 20-word minimum on "pros"...

    Cons

Lot of turnover, politics, back-stabbing, a "boy's club" of insiders. Little room for professional development, lack of focus on the customer in lieu of empire building. A sweat shop with little, if any, recognition, so the reward is not commensurate with the overall comp package.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dump some of those middle and senior managers, they are toxic- you have to ask why there is so much turnover and a poor company culture.

I worked at Wolters Kluwer full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

35 hour work week, decent pay, plenty of paid time off, interesting work, small office atmosphere

    Cons

Part of a very large company, so a lot of big corporate initiatives can ruin the small office feel. Not many advancement opportunities unless you want to move to another city.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More transparency between corporate and office activities.
