Solid employer with potential for improvement

    Engineer (Current Employee) Melbourne (Australia)

ProsSmart people, interesting work in local and international oil and gas projects. Practices what it preaches in terms of safety - reminded daily of the importance of a strong safety culture.

ConsLimited personal development opportunities at the moment due to limited work (on the back of slow economic conditions and lack of operator activity). Do not feel valued as an employee.

Advice to Senior ManagementLacking in definition of defined career paths. Considerably more can be done to make employees feel valued - it's the little things that count.

    Roustabout Worker

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood money with a lot of hours to work. You do not have to have a background in oil and energy, they will teach you how to work with it. Safety is HUGE to the company.

ConsIt is a heavy labor job. Sometimes the managers can get behind in providing materials like tools, equipment, and resources in completing and performing jobs.

Good place to start in the Oil&Gas

Project Engineer (Current Employee) Aberdeen, Scotland (UK)

    ProsGood working environment.
    Strong core values.
It is a good place to start a career, there are several courses provided mainly to develop your soft skills and help building a solid working attitude.

    ConsPoor benefits.
Poor interaction with other Wood Group Companies (Mustang, Kenny, etc.).
Still lot to do to consolidate the whole Group.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is a big area of middle Management which puts a big distance between Executive levels and basic employees. There seems to be a genuine effort from the CEO to reduce this distance but still lot can be done.
