    Pros

Multiple offices and disciplines which makes it easier to take on different types of projects and move around within the company. The projects themselves are interesting and challenging, and there is a big emphasis on managers providing mentorship to promote more advancement in the company. Health and wellness initiatives are promoted a lot in the offices. Great time off policy too.

    Cons

With the company expanding, Internal IT resources can be stretched thin.

    Advice to Management

Continued investment in IS solutions that meet the needs of all employees will make the operations more efficient.

    Pros

It's great to be working for a company that cares about it's employees, communities, and the environment. At the end of the day I know that I have contributed to a great cause whether it's clean drinking water, cleaning up contaminated land, or keeping industrial companies in compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The company is committed to providing growth opportunities and sharing financial success with all it's employees. The best part of all is working with others that enjoy the work they do, it's a great team environment!

    Cons

As is the case in many companies growth opportunities aren't always the same for everyone at the same time. Some business area's are more successful than others and provide more opportunity for growth. Employee's do need to take it on themselves for additional training and development opportunities, but are rarely turned down when they do ask.

    Advice to Management

Keep a focus on offering internal training opportunities that relate to business and communication skills.

    Pros

Growing company, strong values/culture, flexible environment.

    Cons

Some work to be done around standardization, processes, and systems to withstand growth.

    Advice to Management

Keep working on building more infrastructure to support managers and mentor junior staff.

    Pros

Good firm from a technical standpoint and encourages an entrepreneurial atmosphere.

    Cons

Once upon a time when Al and Frank were still involved this was a truly great and rewarding company to work for. The mantra was caring greatly about the employees which they did. Well that is still the mantra but it is no longer true. Financial performance is now the number one priority above all else. So may good people have left recently, some voluntarily and some not.

    Advice to Management

Get back to your roots and walk the talk.

    Pros

Many coworkers are fun to work with and very smart.

    Cons

Position was not as advertised, the jobs are not technically challenging, the hours are longer and there is no team. The company has an extremely high turn around rate, and only a handful of employees have been with the company for more than 10 years, these individuals are not to be trusted with your career. Upper management does little to mentor young engineers and is stuck in a rut by firmly adhering to what they know. There is little room for career growth within the company and talking negatively about a former employee for leaving is a problem in the office. There is also unnecessary drama within the office at times as there are no clear rules for acceptable conduct. Ethics is not their strong suite. -DO NOT BE FOOLED IN THE INTERVIEWS, THEY ARE SELLING YOU ON AN IDEA THAT DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS COMPANY.

    Advice to Management

Step up to your position or step down from it.

    Pros

Great assistance from the corporate staff who are always quick to help resolve issues. The highest level of management seems 'real' and has a great plan for growth overall. Very good benefits, work + life balance is great. Great place to work if all you want is a 40 hour week in a cubicle or out doing some fieldwork/sampling and other things are more important to you than career.

    Cons

If you are looking for mentorship and career advancement be very careful about the specific project you are going to work on. Certain managers are very self-serving, will steal your ideas as their own in order to look good, very rarely offer guidance without pulling it out of them, and truly only care what those above them think. Very inside the box thinking at most projects which leads to little opportunity for challenge or growth. Unwilling to expose themselves to an acceptable level of risk in order to reach for greatness, would rather take the safe and easy route to stay average. My direct line of superiors were too stale and lacking of knowledge to create in their region what the company overall was looking to achieve; however, they were very technically sound and very capable of running their projects/regions.

    Advice to Management

Let the new age in! Don't be afraid of change; evaluate and understand risks so that you can find the REWARDS!! Have a balance of different types of managers in a region. All technical with insufficient personal skills in every single manger is bad for business overall. Good luck in the future, wishing you all find success.
