I worked at World Duty Free Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting customer base, decent salary, very diverse employee base, very independent work, hours are terrible

    Cons

Employee morale is terrible, problems have stemmed far before the last year, unorganized and incredibly disrespectful for fair work loads and shifts to all members of management.

    Advice to Management

Reorganize your priorities and figure it out before you have an even bigger problem with staffing than you have had in the last ten years.

I worked at World Duty Free Group full-time

    Pros

Working with high end brands, excellent coworkers, meeting international clients

    Cons

No effective leadership, lack of communication, no follow through, low morale, ineffective store and counter management, failing to implement policies and procedures, high theft, no loss prevention programs or audits, poor POS system, inaccurate commission tracking, poor inventory, very little gratis, poor brand training, no growth opportunities, poor discount, very little employee support

    Advice to Management

Find a store manager that has outstanding experience with BOTH cosmetic brand management and retail store operations. Higher stronger counter management Provide better training to beauty advisors and management

    Pros

Consistent hours, discount, and not much else

    Cons

People are constantly calling out, lack of a training program, no real succession planning or opportunity to advance, standards they expect are great but there is no follow through with those who don't reach goals

    Advice to Management

Set standards and follow through so you will have increased loyalty and a better environment.

    Pros

Starting hourly pay of $14-$15 unfortunately not worth it at the end of the day due to the counter managers and lack of management understanding

    Cons

Hiring unqualified workers as counter managers Allowing gossip / cattiness / and poor work ethic yet having outrageous sales quotas

    Advice to Management

Researching previous employment (a lot of workers have been fired over issues that should not have them working in sales environment) Talk with your beauty advisors not just counter managers in what's going on in the store (a lot of theft/favoritism's/gossip and treating other coworkers very poorly)
