Great place to be more of an independent trainer.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFreedom to create your own schedule. Large space to accomoadate the client. The gym will also give you clients to train to increase your client case load.

ConsFinding clients. It can be difficult to find clients to train initially. This is where you have to put in the work and it eventually pays off.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work!

    Member consultant- Horrible sales job

Member Consultant (Former Employee) Smyrna, GA

ProsFree gym membership when I was at the Smyrna, GA location. Decent hours.

ConsPay structure is design to make them huge profits. If you work over 40 hours, they turn you into a 'salary employee' so they dont have to pay you over time BUT if you work under 40, you become hourly so they can give you less...doesn't make sense right? You get $20 for each 1 yr contract a client signs, $10 for renewals. Sales associates are hungry to take sales. The club was overcrowded so clients usually were not wanting to join. Made 8.50/hr...barely made $10 after all commission was included. Lots of 'pushing' to get corporate sales. Certain people at the club FALSELY created accounts on review sites to make the club look good in user reviews. Don't buy into the fake reviews. Don't work here unless you would like a free funeral after you die from exhaustion. Not allowed to eat your outside food (wendys, tacomac) inside the cafe because manager thought it would take sales away from their sports bar.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you drive a top-notch mercedes to work, you should consider showing your employees more appreciation and give them a better pay structure.

Privately owned company needs better management

Front Desk (Current Employee) Smyrna, GA

ProsPays more than minimum wage. Hot people to look at working out.

ConsSingle people out, if they don't like you they will find some random reason to fire you. They do NO background checks so if you're a convicted murderer and a drug addict, get a job here! No drug testing either. No hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote people that you can rely on and that have been there a while. Do background checks! One day someone is going to get hired and they are gonna hurt someone.

    DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE

Sales Manager (Former Employee) Jacksonville, FL

ProsThe pros of working at a gym are typical: meeting good looking people, free fitness advice, access to gym facility, etc.

ConsThe cons of working at this gym are unrealistic sales goals, lack of available hours to work, and cold calling for sales production. Additionally, benefits are not provided unless you are senior management.

Advice to Senior ManagementMy advice to management would be to hire better senior management that will lead by example and have REALISTIC expectations to sales goals.

Hey it's a job in a bad economy.

Head Lifeguard (Former Employee) Setauket, NY

ProsThe jobs are not very stressful in nature and a lot of the co-workers make it a good time. As a student you are able to get work done during down times, which is helpful.

ConsThey managenment is not effective, the owner does not listen to common sense, he put his nephew in charge of the accounting without a degree or any type of training, or experience. The company employs roughly 200 people, but only about 3 are given paid vacation. Pay days are the 15th and 30th or 31st of the month. However, if that day falls on a weekend, or holiday, expect to be paid later rather than earlier.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet a clue.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

good job if you like the place.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Prosfree use of facility and equipment but you have to work at least once a week. You can pick up shifts but only recieve a discount on membership.

Consbad hours because it's open 24 hours but they will be considerate if you have a day job or are attending a college / university.

    Advice to Senior ManagementNone.
