Former Employee - Forklift Driver in Norcross, GA

    Pros

Plenty of overtime and opportunity to learn warehousing. Several forklifts to be certified on if you are one of the select few to get the opportunity.

    Cons

Work you to the bone, Very physically demanding job, poor facility attitude due to being encouraged in a negative manner through upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Positive reinforcement is much more productive than negative. Employ teamwork instead of a no talking policy. Teams provide an incremental amount of higher production value if done correctly.

Former Employee - Transporter in Santa Rosa West, CA

    Pros

Dealing with the customers is the only perk this job has. Chance to meet great people and socialize (but for only 3 seconds)

    Cons

Everything else. Had to drive my own truck. The management at the local one here in Santa Rosa has a real loud personality and voice. Given impossible time table unless you want to run a risk of a speeding ticket. I was fired because they thought I was cheating them on my millage, when in fact, most times I was under reporting my millage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go to the personality store and pick up a sample pack! Give the drivers the benefit of the doubt and stick up for them.

Former Employee - Warehouse/Delivery Driver in Lynnwood, WA

    Pros

Meeting new people and establishing an acquaintance with customers.

    Cons

Poor management at Lynnwood warehouse, nosy people, favoritism by management, personal vendettas by management certain company policy's that cause stress because every time you start the vehicle could be your last day there because of a mistake. To easy to lose your job over such things as hear say, accused of being a liar anytime you get a driver alert from the 800# on the vehicle. All around they aren't a very good company to work for if you're looking for fair treatment by management and sensible requirements pertaining to the job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat every employee equally. Stop condemning some employees with rules and bending them for others. Take your employees word over some stranger that you've never met or have any idea if the report has any truth to it. Stop listening to hear say. Stop with the favoritism and yelling at employees and arguing with them and stop involving your self in others conversations. Stop embarrassing and humiliating employees by chewing them out, yelling at them and deliberately belittling them in front of the other employees just to satisfy your power trip egos.

    Pros

Five days a week. 7 to 4 very easy.

    Cons

    Job is rather boring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to cross train employees to offset boredom. Upper management not friendly at all.

    Pros

It is a good place to get some experience right out of college. Relaxed managers that are understanding about work/home balance.

    Cons

The pay is less than average compared to other companies in the area. Raises don't even keep up with inflation much less reward an individual for their accomplishments.

Former Employee - Driver/Warehouse Team Member in Mechanicsville, VA

    Pros

The only thing that I enjoyed was getting to drive a Toyota Prius around town to deliver auto parts.

    Cons

The management was challenging. They were more interested in sitting at the desk behind a computer than actually managing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would suggest speaking to employees as if they were people and less like vermin. Talking down to those who are doing all of the work is counter productive.

    Pros

Worldpac has good benefits, day shifts an occasional Saturday shifts, driver pay is low at the start but the company is constantly expanding and management positions open up every week across canada and the united states. Its a company the rewards hard work and people will to do what is needed for the company to succeed

    Cons

Low starting pay, and low yearly wage increases, and the summer workloads are high stress in a time most staff would prefer to have time off to enjoy there own personal lives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase starting wage, and/or create a better raise increase system

The Industry leader- but not employee friendly

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Worldpac is the leader in the Automotive aftermarket. It offers it's employee's relatively good benefits. Technologically advanced, Worldpac provides it's employee's with tools to help them succeed that no other company in the industry does.

    Cons

There are very high stress levels in many departments at Worldpac. Prior to current ownership, it used to be a employee friendly company. That changed several years ago when upper level management changed. The company mantra now is "hit the number no matter what the cost"! Usually that cost is at the employee's expense. Their mental and physical health, and their personal lives. Upper management no longer views their employee's as assets, but rather see's them as "expendable commodities" that can be replaced at any time for a lower cost. Managements attitude is "where else are they going to go work?" Exempt employees are expected to regularly work six days a week with no additional compensation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Worldpac became the industry leader based on the work of it's talented and loyal employees! For many years the company's internal motto was "Our employees make the difference". These days, employee's no longer feel valued! In at least one department, compensation is reduced every year! How demoralizing is that, to work hard and produce more, and to be compensated less year after year? Everything that Worldpac used to do to convey to it's employees that they were valued has been taken away to put a couple more bucks in GPI's pockets! Employee appreciation days, a yearly holiday meal, even very small bonuses. Senior management needs to wake up and realize that their greatest asset is their employees, and that any short term financial gains they may be achieving now will soon disappear as more and more talented employee's leave the company!

    Pros

    Flexible and Easy going

    Cons

Job security is low and the pay isnt good .I worked there under a very incompetent management ,they will use you like a commodity and when they feel a certain way about you they will put the gun on your temple and pull the trigger.I was fired basically because a manager didnt take my complaints in a positive manner ,,..its a really stressful job and the demands are high compared to what you are getting paid

Current Employee - Warehouse/Delivery Driver in Stoney Creek, ON (Canada)

    Pros

Tons of work available and constantly expanding. Never need to be worried about a lack of work even in the off season.

With expanding warehouses and new warehouses popping up all over, the ability to advance is unlimited.

    Friendly management team and co-workers.

Excellent benefits and great discounts on parts. Ability to find great mechanics and build relationships with said mechanics. That relationship gives you reliable work done for your vehicle at a great discount!

    Cons

Lots of red tape involved but nothing out of the ordinary for a company this size.

Lunch is usually taken while on the road.

Can chew up and spit out workers who are looking for straight 40 hour weeks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find time for lunch and order winter tires for company vehicles. The cost of winter tires will be paid back in saving time driving around on all season tires during snow storms.
