    Good 1st job

    Cargo Supervisor (Current Employee)

ProsGood for a entry level job. Great coworkers you make a lot of good friends. Learn a lot of knowledge about the industry.

ConsManagement could be better. No raises. Most employees are overworked and underpaid. Long days huge workload. Too much micro managing.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive your employees an annual raise and most of the good workers would actually stick around.

    general manager at IAD cargo.

General Manager (Former Employee) Sterling, VA

Prospotential growth company in the air cargo sector.

Consworking conditions at the cargo facility were in such poor condition the fire marshall was going to shut the entire building down due to electrical and safety concerns.
relocation rates which were current in the 1970's, not 2013/14. you must pay all expenses out of pocket, and then wait 60 plus days to be re-embursed. transportation, meals, housing, etc.

Advice to Senior Managementif you are going to attract future talent to manage this station, keep your word, and disclose how the station wasn't taken care of for years prior, and how poorly the staff was treated by upper management, with little concern for the employees deplorable working conditions.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Worst Place to Work

Exports Cargo Agent (Current Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsBeing contracted to American Airlines in Texas.

ConsEVERYTHING. They don't pay overtime as required - have to go through the Bureau of Labor to file complaints. They ignore federal salary laws - claiming people as salaried employees to prevent paying overtime when the wages don't meet minimum salaried employee rates. They don't pay for health insurance so employees pay full cost - at the minimal wages they give this means over half a paycheck goes to covering one individual; the entire paycheck for an individual with one child. They don't monitor the third party vendor covering their health insurance - benefits not started or stopped on time, payroll deductions messed up, and notifications of eligibility not sent. General managers assigned multiple contracts on different sides of the airport so they don't pay attention to any of the harassment complaints about supervisors, hours for the contract aren't properly covered, payroll complaints, or insurance complaints. Worst communication ever! The supervisors will post a schedule, change it, and not inform employees of the changes or post an updated schedule, then attempt to reprimand employees for not working as scheduled - including firing employees unjustly.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a human resources course, listen to your employees, quit assigning general managers to multiple contracts, learn how to communicate, learn what a staffing model is and how to use one, and read up on federal labor laws!

    General Manager

    Station Manager (Former Employee)

ProsChance to work all over the country and the world if that is what you are looking for. Managers get insurance right away.

ConsYou sometimes take the fall for others mistakes. As a manager you are on probation just like the hourly employees. You are unable to make hiring decisions, they have to be approved.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to stand behind your management.
