I have been working at Wunderman (New York) part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Seriously, and truly, everyone that works here are so genuinely nice, it is shocking. The CDs/ACDs are great mentors, the juniors are talented and eager juniors, and the management team sincerely seems to care on a human level.

    Cons

The advertising is a little straight forward and boring. But if you just want to work in advertising, have a great work/life balance, great hours, and amazing, friendly people, this is the place.

I have been working at Wunderman (New York) full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Centrally located in the heart of Manhattan, near central park. Easy travel daily.

    Cons

Management is very numbers driven, projects are driven by account managers. Projects managers are mere traffickers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring people whom are clueless in diverse thinking and management. They tend to hire people with the same attitude.

    Pros

ground level people have a "can do" and "we're in it together" attitude. plenty of opportunity for go-getters to succeed...

    Cons

...success is not met with reward for hard work.
-poor people management and high turnover due to politics and frustration arising from that.
    -zero understanding of organization structure
-promotions are slow, if at all

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

practice what you preach. the market is not saying good things about you.

I worked at Wunderman (New York) full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Casual atmosphere. Centrally located offices.

    Cons

No raises - there were talented staff who had gone several years without a raise and left because of it. Support staff were utterly disrespected and it was not uncommon to have an assistant responsible for supporting a dozen people without even being told who they were supporting. Focus is more on meetings than actually getting anything done. There were meetings to plan meetings and meetings to discuss the last meeting - it would be funny if it weren't true. Pay is very low and only those interested in not doing much seem to last. I left after less than a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat support staff with some respect and COMMUNICATE with subordinates about expectations.

I worked at Wunderman (New York) as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Young, friendly environment. Location is amazingly convenient. Intern Program is very well done and I felt like I learned a significant amount about the advertising industry.

    Cons

Direct marketing can get a little dry

I worked at Wunderman (New York) as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The interns are given things to do and side projects with an actual client, whether or not this be used it is still a positive learning experience. There were lectures about Advertising by VPs and we got to meet the CEO, as well as Mr. Wunderman himself.
The program itself is well run and rewarding.

    Cons

Unfortunately the client project is not a "real" project and will not be used.
Interns are not always given real work. Some of the people seemed to be there as a career stepping stone.
