    Pros

The people that you work with, have great personalities and fun to be around.

Not a good choice for developers since they don't let you write code.

    Pros

    They're generous with the PTO.

    Cons

It's just a staffing company with a marketing focus. They don't actually consult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the politicking and give the developers some real IT resources.

I worked at Wunderman (New York) full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Pitch like pros, always looking for a "big idea." Very bad at executing those ideas, strategically and creatively. Great at finding genuinely talented junior staff, but susceptible to bullsh*t artists at most higher levels. Data group is solid, but spends time massaging bad results.

    Cons

Completely unable to deliver on promises made in pitches. Waste too much time in meetings and morale/profile building activities, to detriment of client work. People rewarded for sucking up, not results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time (and allow staff to focus) on real projects, before the client is walking out the door.

I have been working at Wunderman (New York) as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

A mix of talented creative people make this a good place to spend your time.

    Cons

The place is run by account, seemingly, and doesn't seem to have a coherent vision of who they are or where they want to go - it is reflected in the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lots of Jrs, lots of Chiefs - no one in between to offer real creative direction or to push the work to the next level.

    Pros

Smart, hard-working people. The rank and file is seriously committed to servicing their clients and delivering meaningful results. Impressive global network. A few very talented stand-outs.

    Cons

Executive management is disconnected from staff and clients. Executive management delivers very little value. Raises and promotions are difficult to come by resulting in a high attrition rate among the most talented staff. Like many publicly traded companies, the focus is on the bottom line.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Practice "management by walking around" instead of secluding yourselves in your offices. Demonstrate your value to clients and staff. Understand that when clients tell you repeatedly that your Creative and Strategic output is sub-standard, they are probably telling you the truth.

    Pros

Great leaders. Harmonious work environment. Peer guidance. Everyone is a mentor. You can ask questions anytime you want. The entire company works together, no one works under or above someone. Client interaction is great. Even juniors get plenty of chance to present their work, break barriers and try out different revolutionary designs. You are rewarded for your performance at every opportunity.

    Cons

Compensation could be a bit better.

    Pros

The people are fantastic. They love what they do, making for a very positive work environment.

    Cons

Junior account staff are not compensated in-line with industry averages. Due to Wunderman/Y&R worldwide structure, pay raises and promotions take longer than they ought.

I have been working at Wunderman (New York)

    Pros

Benefits, opportunity to work on MS, access to the network, process-focused agency.

    Cons

Irregular and inconsistent promotion & raise cadence. Too Microsoft-focused at times. The agency in many ways has evolved to mirror how it functions to its biggest client, Microsoft.

    Pros

the location is good. Great places to eat at.

    Cons

DO not work at Seattle WUnderman. People are fake. They take advantage of their contracted employees then fire you when your contracts ends. My boss never knew what she was doing. She was always talking about her personal problem and wanted my opinion (awkward).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to what your employees need. Keep an open communication with them. Stop bringing in your personal problem tow work. Stop making things the office environment so uncomfortable.
