    Pros

Good clients, strong middle management, fun place to work, good team of people. Work was interesting and kept moving at a fair pace.

    Cons

Legacy POV in senior management. Not open to new ideas. Poor work/life balance. No feedback or reviews. No career pathing. Good place if you are will to keep your head down and hold the same position with no raise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think before you act. Listen to the people working the daily grind. Reward employees who work hard, not just those who brown-nose senior management. Review your HR department.

    Pros

Wunderman has some good points, it provides good benefits (a bit expensive) hours can be decent depending on the account, vacation amount is decent as well.

    Cons

Lack of promotions and under-compensated workers. Very low employee moral - most do not feel proud to work at Wunderman.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make a true investment in your employees, let them know they are appreciated and compensate them appropriately in order to retain the good workers.

Good place to cut teeth as a Young Professional, or get hired in as a seasoned agency veteran. Difficult place to grow.

I worked at Wunderman (New York)

    Pros

Good place to work out of college or to come into with previous experience.

Good benefits and perks - vacation schedule is generous if you can find the time to take your days off

Young, energetic, confident coworkers to interact with on a daily basis

    Cons

Career advancement is difficult due to hiring freezes/lack of new business opportunities

Financial advancement is almost nonexistent due to pay freezes. Unless you are coming into the company with previous work experience/compensation benchmarks, you will be slow-tracked financially

Although vacation time is a nice perk, there is a strange sense of pride in not using your vacation days due to "being too busy" to take them.

Work-life balance is not a priority and there is no "overtime" for working long hours/weeks

Travel schedule can be demanding depending on the department in which you work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Facilitate better communication (open dialogue/listening/understanding) between management and account teams. Idea generation is an area where young professionals can help, but often times are silenced/intimidated by upper management wanting to keep the status quo with their client.

    Pros

    • The work environment is top notch. Young energetic and motivated people who are wholly trusted by supervisors and account directors
    • Vacation time is fantastic
    • Upper management treat employees like peers. Mutual respect exists in the company.

    Cons

    • Withheld benefits for new hires. Never given a timeframe for when/if the benefits would come.
    • Promotions are possible, but recently employees are being promoted without salary increase.
***cons are no doubt a sign of the current economic times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with employees about not receiving benefits. Please continue to hire those who respect and are honest to lower level executives.

Most of the upper management displayed inappropriate harassment-type behavior and encouraged a bully culture

I have been working at Wunderman (New York)

    Pros

Everyone here is a professional...dedicated to producing quality work and working tirelessly on behalf of the clients. People here are also very supportive and helpful...it's not a clique-y kind of place at all...very comfortable...very easy to settle in.

    Cons

Salary. I would recommend Wunderman to my friends but I'd suggest they negotiate a good salary going in because salary increases have been on hold for years!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You must work out some way with WPP to give your good employees salary increases...they work hard for you and want to stay at Wunderman but often they can't because when all of their expenses go up, they need to also make more money...and salary is the ultimate recognition of a job well done.

    Pros

Excellent benefits and ample vacation time. Decent learning opportunities via company sponsored Wunderman University classes.

    Cons

Lack of team-building culture. Employee moral is down, more often than not. Compensation is terrible, people are often promoted without raises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication from senior management and cross-teams must be improved.

I have been working at Wunderman (New York)

    Pros

There are great people at Wunderman and you have the opportunity to work on great projects spanning the digital space. There are many social/drinking events throughout the year to help build stronger relationships across the agency.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy! The culture is not as collaborative as you would hope for an advertising agency. Rarely do you find that different functional groups find it easy to accept opposing ideas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Communicate more with the employees.

I worked at Wunderman (New York)

    Pros

At Wunderman, the goal is always about the 15% increase in profit. If you meet the criteria, you are safe and secured. if you don't, the "ax" comes down really hard. Although, the profit criteria is difficult to obtain, the compensation and benefits are at or above industry standards. The office tried to do the "right" thing for the STAR performers.

    Cons

Political nightmare...is the word that comes to mind. Unless you are in the "club", you are not appreciated or promoted in timely manner. The only way to get into the "club" is to think and act like the "club" members. If you disagree, your career is not recognized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate down to lower level on an ongoing basis. Be honest!
