    Pros

The pay was good, benefits, breaks, paid holidays, paid vacations, union SSOBA, health benefits.

    Cons

Paid every 2 weeks, not enough diversity majority of employees black/Spanish hardly no white. Security supervisors were all African American and didn't speak Spanish in an 85%-90% Puerto Rican neighborhood etc

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to not fall victim to gossip, have more helpful staff that is attentive to patients, more team work amongst departments, better and more updated equipment.

    Pros

The Hospital is improving. They are willing to listen. Good people and good leaders.

    Cons

The organization needs to be more consistent and responsive to the changes in Healthcare

    Advice to Management

Hold your colleagues accountable, talk to them and insist on raising the bar. The management needs training and recognition for the good job they are doing and criticism when they don't exceed expectations.

    Pros

My immediate team was nice to work with & we all worked well together.

    Cons

Very 'Clicky' - had to know the 'right people' in order to move ahead. No real structure. Parking was a hassle & the neighborhood wasn't the friendliest at the time, but that may have changed.

    Pros

It is a multi cultural environment. It gives a great opportunity to serve a diverse population.

    Cons

There is no retirement benefits for non union staff.

    Advice to Management

Review the AR for un-billed accounts. Review managerial job performance and provide training to the managerial staff. The success of the organization depends on the knowledge and experience the management staff.

I worked at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center

    Pros

Prior to its demise, when they had real managers with degrees it was great. Intelligence.

    Cons

As the hospital started going down(losing alot of money) they started hiring non degree managers who never got out of high school. It became sad, and the hospital closed its doors forever. Non Quality management.

    Advice to Management

Should have tried to keep managers with brains and not greedy for money.
