    Pros

The management is striving to maximize employee while staying competitive. The group structure still gives Wyle a small company feel.

    Cons

The bureaucracy inherent in most large businesses has creeped into many of the local processes. Off-site employees are mainly left out of company gatherings.

I worked at Wyle full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

A great heritage, some interesting work. Great folks.

    Cons

Over the last fifteen years (and a few M&A events) the company culture has changed significantly. The legacy companies Veda/ Veridian once thrived on a flat organizational philosophy that was highly communicative, outwardly focused, apolitical, and engaged with its employees. Its primary goals were customer satisfaction, employee development and top line growth. Today the company has become hierarchical and political with little bi-directional/open communication and a pronounced inward focus. Employees are viewed as FTE's to be managed rather than assets to be developed. Investment decisions are made with a greater focus on the middle expense line and its immediate (<12 month horizon) effect on the bottom line rather that mid to long term ROI, market differentiation and strategic growth. The result is a company sliding into mediocrity with the end-game appearing to be the low cost provider in a restricted market.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look up and out. Integrate and rationalize the talent and capabilities across divisions. Manage your cash, but also develop your human capital. Target high value markets and strive for differentiation. The Veridian IPO and subsequent acquisition valuation didn't happen because the company was good at LPTA. Drive the top line, empower the troops to wisely mange the middle line and the bottom line results will "exceed expectations."

I worked at Wyle full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The money. It was a job, nothing more than a 40 hour a week job with a ton of stress and a paycheck.

    Cons

The non-supporting management. Very unstable chain of command. Many unannounced staff/manager changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
