I have been working at Wyle

    Pros

good co workers, good work life balance

    Cons

Was told I could earn pay raises as part of the review process. The company that owns Wyle is only worried about the bottom line not allowing employees to advance in pay. The company has not given out pay raises for 3 years. (Whcih I had found out after getting hired) When we did get one this year it was a meager 1.6%, that won't even cover the cost of living. CAS group usually had better benefits which helped offset the wages offered. The benefits are rapidly becoming much less. (Don't know about other business units)

I have been working at Wyle full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There is plenty of work to go around. You get to work closely with other groups within the project. This provides a chance to better understand all of the aspects of your project and get some insight of things you may not have studied before.

    Cons

There is a lot of travelling. The benefits were second to none 5 years ago, but now are average at best.

It is more of a job than a career. Promotions are not normal and neither are pay raises besides the required pay raise for inflation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Morale is a very important key to success in a company. It is easy to overlook employees who are hard at work in the background, but it is the responsibility of upward management to help these background heroes to believe that they are a key part to the company and that they are needed.

    I worked at Wyle

    Pros

Wyle was a great company to work for. We exceeded customer expectations every day. Our pricing is higher than our major competition, but we delivered quality service. I worked for the Wyle Test Lab for 7 years, glad I did and very proud supporting many successful programs. The management team has solid expertise in what we did and they do not overlook an employees hard work and dedication. I LOVE Wyle. The test lab division was acquired by our competitor NTS, and I decided to resign.

    Cons

I think Wyle made a mistake letting go of their test lab.

I have been working at Wyle

    Cons

Wyle is a government contractor and must operate according to the will of the federal government.

I worked at Wyle full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Wyle is a great company to work for. They treat their employees with fairness and respect. Competitive benefits, promotions based on merit, and full range of medical/dental, vision, 401K, and insurance choices.

    Cons

Biggest challenge is that Wyle needs to expand its brand to all DoD and Federal Agencies. This limits job opportunities for those in parts of the country with a full range of DoD presence.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay closer attention to the needs and perceptions of the government task leads. Be willing to let the government propose a path ahead. As a military program manager, I know what government leads tend to need from their contractor team.
