Everything is not what it seems

    I worked at Wyndham Vacation

    Pros

There are many nice people that work at Wyndham.

    Cons

Timeshare sales peopleile are just another number. The company does not take the proper method to train employees and they are quick to terminate employees. It's a revolving door and management could care less. Employees are not treated equally by management, the work environment is poor and ethical standards are very low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The culture of the company starts from the top. All people, whether they be customers or employees should be treated with high ethical standards. The product should be able to do exactly what the sales people are trained to tell the customers it does. People spend their hard earned money just to later find out they need to spend more money to get the amount of vacation time they were hoping for.

I worked at Wyndham Vacation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great for out of High School or Part Time College looking for a professional job.
The Money is great if you are willing to slave yourself out and prove you can do it
Some of your co workers are like family

    Cons

    Management is a joke!
You have to lie and be damn good at it!
Manipulative people set out to cut throats to get their way!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reconsider your wants in people, don't lie to customers or use another company to help boost your own!
Clean house and start over! No matter how you word it Timeshare is Timeshare even if you call it "Vacation Ownership" Your point system doesn't fool anyone!

I worked at Wyndham Vacation part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible schedule options, easy job, casual dress, good benefits, and ample time off.

    Cons

Severe micro management, overabundance of rules, pretentious trainer, company culture, ridiculous metrics, under qualified management, zero leadership, low pay, tattle tales everywhere, no empowerment, and total lack of customer service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revamp the structure, hire qualified supervisors, research other contact centers, trust your workers and stop micro managing.

I have been working at Wyndham Vacation full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    The company has great Benefits

    Cons

Wyndham cares more about their bottom line & sales results than you as a person.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more consideration for your employees who go above & beyond sacrificing time with their family time with their families to come in on their off days or work past their shift to reach your minimum sales requirements before terminating them for not reaching their minimum sales quota. Treat your employees like people not like a number.

I worked at Wyndham Vacation full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The relations I had with all my co workers and supervisor and how we got along, the wonderful guest I greeted from day to day, it was a thrill to talk to them as I checked them in and finding out where they came from and what the reason they were staying in town.

    Cons

The times we were short handed and I had to deal with twice has much volume then usual. But other then that I found it a great place to work and hope to work with the company again.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think that what happened to me that got me discharged was totally unfair, even though I know it was wrong and I feel I should have just been reprimanded instead of fired for the incident

I worked at Wyndham Vacation full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good hours, paid training. I met a few nice people who worked there at the time I did. They were all people who were new to the company and as uncomfortable with their business practices as I was.

    Cons

The job is based on lying to every potential customer. I was told by management on several occasions to "tell the customers whatever they wanted to hear to get the sale" Once, I was reprimanded by the management for not trying to sell vacation ownership to a mentally challenged person. The management said "If he is well enough to walk in, he is well enough to buy." The place was disgusting and immoral.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to find some standards and ethics.

    Pros

Great benefits, promotion opportunities, ability to work without micro management.

    Cons

Shift hours, staffing, and minimal job performance feedback.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company very audit motivated so much so that all attention is focused on dotting the Is and crossing the Ts, that guest satisfaction is sometimes sacrificed.
