I worked at Wyndham Worldwide as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

You have the privilege of meeting many of the leaders of the company.
    Good pay.

    Cons

Working on group project that is presented in front of people such as the CEO and executive board along with hiring managers can be very stressful at times.

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, beautiful headquarters building in Parsippany, NJ, Leadership is getting better. IT folks can work from home when the weather is bad, flexible working hours if needed.

    Cons

Promotions are political. Layoffs happen to cut expenses. Several rounds of layoffs happened in late 2014 and early 2015. At times, folks are motivated by abusive treatment rather than accepting that mistakes do happen and can be fixed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on generating revenue versus cutting expenses to make the financial numbers look good. Institute a mentor program in the company to reduce the reliance on promotions for political reasons.

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

If you can navigate company politics, you'll probably thrive without working

    Cons

Dirty work environment, disorganized managers and bad infrastructure. Classism clearly exists between contractors and full timers.

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A great place to work. Friendly people. Nice culture. Mostly laid-back atmosphere. Good work-life balance. Flexible working hours.

    Cons

Career growth prospects may seem high but getting an actual promotion is challenging. Doesn't seem to matter how much work you do or how high quality work you do, unless you are constantly visible to management on various things, very hard to get a promotion.

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Work hard to increase employee satisfaction. Lots of training opportunities and funding for MBA etc. Work life balance very nice.

    Cons

Toxic politics. Leadership changes every 2-3 years. Strategic direction constantly changes, lack of focus on current objectives

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees realize that a reorg is coming every January, people collect their bonus in Feb and move on, until this is addressed, Wyndham will continue to lose good people
