    Pros

Wyndham spun off from Cendant in 2006 so, while our brands are well established (Howard Johnson; Ramada; Super 8), the company as an independent entity is quite young. Steve Holmes is the only CEO in WYN's history. Financial results since the Global Financial Crisis ended are outstanding (stock bottomed at $2.77 in 2009, now near $90/share). Some specifics:

Count On Me! culture taken very seriously.
Collegial atmosphere encouraged and carefully guarded.
    Forward-thinking leadership.
    Work/Life Balance is genuinely supported.

    Cons

Small organization (from a corporate perspective) limits upward mobility opportunities.
Stock not available to rank-and-file employees.
Bonuses dependent only on company performance, not individual performance.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to provide a broad-based equity participation program.
Move to more variable compensation (top performers can achieve only $25-$50/paycheck more than average performers).

    Pros

Good employee programs and flexible working hours. strong company financially

    Cons

stay away from The Wyndham Hotel Group IT group, the actual sr. leadership is very disconnected from the reality on the ground; they only values "smart talks" not so much hard work, knowledge or good skills. Very hostile work environment (cut throat), but if you are a smart talker and "googler" with nothing else to offer, this is your place to shine.

    Advice to Management

not sure if they will listen to a good advice, that's the issue. They only listen to people who agree with them, they have no room for different opinions.

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, beautiful headquarters building in Parsippany, NJ, Leadership is getting better. IT folks can work from home when the weather is bad, flexible working hours if needed.

    Cons

Promotions are political. Layoffs happen to cut expenses. Several rounds of layoffs happened in late 2014 and early 2015. At times, folks are motivated by abusive treatment rather than accepting that mistakes do happen and can be fixed.

    Advice to Management

Focus on generating revenue versus cutting expenses to make the financial numbers look good. Institute a mentor program in the company to reduce the reliance on promotions for political reasons.

    Pros

A great place to work. Friendly people. Nice culture. Mostly laid-back atmosphere. Good work-life balance. Flexible working hours.

    Cons

Career growth prospects may seem high but getting an actual promotion is challenging. Doesn't seem to matter how much work you do or how high quality work you do, unless you are constantly visible to management on various things, very hard to get a promotion.

    Pros

The people. There are a lot of great people to work with.

    Cons

The pay and how HR handles it. Long-term employees are penalized and not paid to market.

    Advice to Management

Work with HR to make a better pay scale, more marketable for the long-term, loyal employees.
