Current Employee - Maintenance Technician in Santa Fe Springs, Los Angeles, CA

    Pros

You get to network with a lot of the associates there.

    Cons

There are times where you're not given the parts, tools, and equipment that you need to complete a project which makes it very difficult and stressful to work in.

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly and good co-workers, decent exposure to new technologies, relatively stable and large company. Relaxed work environment (pool tables and ping pong etc.), flex time and hours and 7 hour work days, at least on paper. Good 401k and health insurance policies, reasonable bonuses and other benefits including free vacations (hotel/resort stays). If you're part of certain key departments and smart enough, there is opportunity to travel around the world as they have offices in a lot of countries. Company policies are friendly for women, diverse groups etc. Overall I would recommend.

    Cons

Not exactly paymaster, but all things considered (i.e. location, hours, bonus, 401k etc.) not too bad. Change of pace is slow and could be more innovative.

    Advice to Management

    Embrace innovation and changes more.

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good solid company. If you know what you are doing you will last a long time here.

    Cons

Your Wyndham employee discount doesn't get you far at high end travel spots like hawaii

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. The lunches are good and the snow days are nice.

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, and good coworkers. Always willing to work with your schedule.

    Cons

Stressful, demanding and at times can feel like the job is to much to handle.

    Advice to Management

Try and talk with your workers more. Other than that I love the company.

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great work-life balance Compensation and benefits are extremely competitive People are professional, friendly, and easy to work with Updated, pleasant campus and office environment

    Cons

Management can be extremely political Blatant favoritism or double standards can exist HR is about protecting the company, not the individual employee

    Advice to Management

Closely examine job duties vs. job titles and work experience. Some personnel get promoted far past their experience levels and some people are being taken advantage of while being overlooked or even shouted down when concerns are raised.

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company is amazing with a wide range of personality, full benefits, great pay, ect. When i started working in the waikiki location I have not felt that welcomed in a long time. Truly a please to be there.

    Cons

This is a large company and at times you can seem like just a number. i feel like a lot of my hard work is simply done to make some of my management large amounts of money and that has been the end goal, not making the consumer happy.

    Advice to Management

Advice would probably be to not be so driven by your personal needs and address the company policy and what the company would like as a whole. Customer satisfaction.

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Great team members, open door policy, wonderful benefits, green initiatives, company is really focused on helping the environment and encouraging community and diversity development.

    Cons

In all corporate offices there are some associates that are damaging and take advantage of the system, are not team players and do not have the best interest of the company in mind.

    Advice to Management

Think outside the box sometimes. Having great associates are wonderful but keep in mind that the ones that are customer facing (i.e. call center) are usually the ones that get the daily calls and resolve the problems that leadership never sees. Recognize them on a regular basis. You're doing a good job, but as we always say, there is always room for improvement.

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing people to work with. Great perks like summer and flex hours. Friendly environment. Opportunity for growth within other departments and Wyndham Worldwide groups.

    Cons

Concept of "fairness" is questionable. Seems like the rules depend on the leader and individual (jobs are custom created for favorited individuals), new leadership has not properly vetted in-house talent, people are moved and promoted for no apparent reason (w/o results, achievements etc)

    Advice to Management

Properly engage and solicit current talent. Rules should apply to all. All new positions should be open for interviewing

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to move into different areas of the company. Focused on growing the busines in the right way

    Cons

It takes senior leadership way too long to recognize, address and eliminate bad VPs who are dismissive and verbally abusive to their direct reports, territorial and unwilling to work with their peers and/or simply unqualified to hold their positions.

    Advice to Management

Do more skip level meetings in order to gain a clear understanding of the business from every level and vantage point within the organization.
