I worked at Wyndham Worldwide as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

If you can navigate company politics, you'll probably thrive without working

    Cons

Dirty work environment, disorganized managers and bad infrastructure. Classism clearly exists between contractors and full timers.

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Location is excellent. Schedule is flexible

    Cons

Very few days off, pay is incredibly low, worked in management, even vacation turns out you need to go back to work or be on the phone with work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay employees better and there will be less turnaround.

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

My direct supervisor & teammates were very pleasant. Job expectations were very direct & weekly pay is incentive based. Good employee benefits available. Management available to speak with regarding concerns.

    Cons

Not explained, but position was actually seasonal (Nov-Jan). After holidays - volume goes from extreme to barely any. Also, flex-scheduling - no set hours or days from week to week - expected to be available any shift, any day, any week!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more, direct positional training among departments, during peak times, in order to meet incentive expectations & during slower schedules - offer cross-training opportunities to supplement income!

    Pros

This is a great company to work for. They treat you like family. You build great relationships with everyone. if you love helping and serving customers, this is the place for you. After 6 months, you can move to another location and if they like you, you can move up into management.

    Cons

Pay. The pay isn't good. It is very low but it teaches you that you need to do things to make your life better

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, beautiful headquarters building in Parsippany, NJ, Leadership is getting better. IT folks can work from home when the weather is bad, flexible working hours if needed.

    Cons

Promotions are political. Layoffs happen to cut expenses. Several rounds of layoffs happened in late 2014 and early 2015. At times, folks are motivated by abusive treatment rather than accepting that mistakes do happen and can be fixed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on generating revenue versus cutting expenses to make the financial numbers look good. Institute a mentor program in the company to reduce the reliance on promotions for political reasons.
